    Burnley v Peterborough (12:31 GMT)

The stands are still pretty empty at Turf Moor with 10 minutes until kick-off. Must be queuing up for a Bovril!

  4. 'Newcastle should be postive'published at 12:19 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Rochdale v Newcastle (12:31 GMT)

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Tottenham and England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Steve Bruce likes the FA Cup and I'm sure he would have loved to have put a stronger team out but the players he has gone with are good players. We say every year there's going to be an upset - and there is a possibility here today - but Steve Bruce and Newcastle have just got on with it and they are being very positive. The team out is strong enough to get a result here today.

  5. Postpublished at 12:18 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Burnley v Peterborough (12:31 GMT)

Peterborough are winless in 26 FA Cup matches against top-flight opponents (D7 L19) since a 2-1 win against Arsenal in January 1965.

And unlike his dad Sir Alex - who won this trophy five times - Posh boss Darren Ferguson hasn't exactly got a record to write home about against top-flight sides, losing his last 10 matches in all competitions against Premier League opponents.

Still plenty of changes in that Burnley team, so you never know.

  6. Which player would Port Vale want?published at 12:17 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

Man City v Port Vale (17:31 GMT)

This is brilliant and probably the first time I've heard Martin Foyle and Alan Shearer both mentioned in the same sentence.

Restricting Tom Pope and James Gibbons to just one Manchester City player to slot in at Vale Park is a tad harsh though, imagine they could have named a squad-full.

  7. 'We meet again'published at 12:15 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

Liverpool v Everton (Sun, 16:01 GMT)

A Merseyside derby. Everyone loves one.

Liverpool and Everton go head-to-head tomorrow at Anfield (16:01 GMT kick-off). Will we see new Reds' signing Takumi Minamino?

Here's what happened last time. Virgil van Dijk did alright afterwards didn't he?

  8. Strong Newcastle sidepublished at 12:12 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Rochdale v Newcastle (12:31 GMT)

    Neil Johnston
    BBC Sport at Spotland

Steve Bruce, a three-time FA Cup winner as a Manchester United player, has had to deal with an injury crisis before this tie but he is still able to name a strong side to face Rochdale.

Six players who started against Leicester on Wednesday start against League One opponents as well as Deandre Yedlin, who suffered a suspected broken hand after coming on as a substitute.

Rochdale include 17-year-old defender Luke Matheson on the bench. He was 16 when he scored against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup in September - and was back in school the next morning.

  9. 'We want a cup run, why not?'published at 12:10 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Rochdale v Newcastle (12:31 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce, speaking to BT Sport: "When I have seen the recent history it is not great reading at all. We want to have a cup run if we can, why not? I experienced it a couple of years ago with Hull.

"There's some kids on the bench but it is a team selection that was pretty easy because we are where we are and we have got what we have got. Let's hope we have enough today to get on with the job."

Mad to think he was playing in a World Cup qualifier for England just over two years ago.
