Charlton and West Brom make a combined 20 changes from their Championship games on New Year's Day.

Andre Green makes his Charlton debut after joining on loan from Aston Villa, while there are also debuts for 16-year-old Aaron Henry and 19-year-old Abraham Odoh.

Midfielder Henry - at 16 years and 127 days - would become Charlton's youngest ever goalscorer if he nets.

West Brom name an entirely new 11, with a debut for 22-year-old defender Jack Fitzwater.

Charlton: Phillips, Oshilaja, Green, Solly, Sarr, Sarpong-Wiredu, Odoh, Stevenson, Davison, Vennings, Henry. Subs: Williams, Gallagher, Pratley, Morgan, Hemed, Harness, Powell.

  2. Stacked against Forestpublished at 13:10 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2020

Chelsea v Nottingham Forest (14:01 GMT)

Recent history isn't on Forest's side when it comes to this fixture in the FA Cup.

Chelsea knocked the Reds out last season in the third round, winning 2-0, and they have won the previous four ties.

In fact, Forest have never won at Stamford Bridge, losing all five of their previous away games, with three of those coming in the FA Cup.

To make things worse, Chelsea have lost just two of their last 50 FA Cup matches against teams from outside the Premier League (Barnsley 2008 and Bradford City 2015).

    Ouch.

    Middlesbrough v Tottenham (14:01 GMT)

Tottenham name a very strong team, with only three changes from their 1-0 defeat by Southampton.

Harry Kane is out with a hamstring injury so Son Heung-min starts after a three-game ban - perhaps up front. Eric Dier and Harry Winks replace Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele, who has an injury.

Middlesbrough hand a debut to winger Patrick Roberts, who has joined on loan from Manchester City after returning from a disappointing spell at Norwich.

They make four changes from a 2-0 win over Preston. Goalkeeper Tomas Mejias and defenders Paddy McNair and Hayden Coulson come into the team.

Daniel Ayala misses out through injury.

Middlesbrough: Mejias, Howson, Fry, McNair, Spence, Clayton, Saville, Coulson, Roberts, Tavernier, Fletcher. Subs: Nmecha, Gestede, Johnson, Wood-Gordon, Wing, Liddle, Brynn.

Tottenham Hotspur: Gazzaniga, Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Sessegnon, Winks, Dier, Lucas Moura, Alli, Eriksen, Son. Subs: Sanchez, Lamela, Vorm, Lo Celso, Skipp, Tanganga, Parrott.

  4. 'Biggest game in the history of AFC Fylde'published at 13:08 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2020

Sheffield United v AFC Fylde (14:01 GMT)

    Neil Johnston
    BBC Sport at Bramall Lane

This is what the FA Cup is all about. A non-league club at a Premier League team. Ok, Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has made 11 changes for this tie after a hectic festive schedule but make no mistake - this is the biggest game in the history of AFC Fylde.

Founded in 1988, the Lancashire non-league side were playing in the 11th tier West Lancashire League in a field at the back of a pub when Blades boss Chris Wilder was embarking on a managerial career at Alfreton Town in 2001.

Having missed out on a place in the Football League last season after losing to Salford City in the National League play-off final, the Coasters are appearing in the third round for the first time.

Last season the Blades went out of the cup at this stage to National League Barnet. Will they avoid another shock this time?

    Breaking

Nine changes for Chelsea. Pedro, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Michy Batshuayi all start.

It's a strong Tottenham team too - Son Heung-min and Dele Alli start, alongside Christian Eriksen.

Chris Wilder makes 11 changes to the Sheffield United team, as expected, and Jack Rodwell makes his debut.

    Wayne Rooney starts for Derby.

    Full team news to follow.

  8. History on Spurs' sidepublished at 13:01 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2020

    Middlesbrough v Tottenham (14:01 GMT)

You have to go back some 54 years for the last time Middlesbrough and Spurs met in the FA Cup - a 4-0 victory for Spurs in January 1966.

They have met in league on several occasions since, however, with Spurs having won their last three matches against today's opposition.

But this won't make for pretty reading for Boro fans - they have been knocked out in eight of their last nine FA Cup ties against Premier League opponents.

Jose Mourinho takes his side to the Riverside today for his first FA Cup match since the 2018 final. He'll be hoping for better fortunes this time around..

  9. Flashback to 2019 - Gillingham stun Cardiff in third roundpublished at 12:59 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2020

Gillingham v West Ham (18:16 GMT)

Those with good memories will remember when Elliott List scored a late winner as League One Gillingham shocked Premier League side Cardiff City.

Will the Hammers suffer the same fate?

Samuel Clarke: Went to the Southampton vs Huddersfield game yesterday as a home supporter, aside from the two goals which were incredible from the youngsters, possibly the most boring FA cup game I’ve ever been to, we played a B-team and Huddersfield never gave us a contest.

    Liverpool v Everton (16:01 GMT)

Team news will be dropping soon in the games kicking off at 14:01.

But what about the big Merseyside derby later. Should Jurgen Klopp rest some of his key players as they continue to strive for that elusive Premier League title?

Or do they need to put out a strong side to help maintain their long unbeaten record at home to Everton?

You would expect Carlo Ancelotti to go for this wouldn't you? Send in your thoughts using #bbcfacup

  12. 'It's an opportunity, that's all'published at 12:52 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2020

Burton Albion v Northampton Town (14:01 GMT)

With £135,000 in prize money going to each of the third round winners, this League One v League Two tie could turn out to be a nice little earner.

Burton Albion, Carabao Cup semi-finalists last season, will start as favourites to make it to the fourth round, where the prize money increases to £180,000 for winning teams.

Nigel Clough's side love a cup run. Earlier this season the Brewers reached the fourth round of the EFL Cup after beating Premier League Bournemouth in the third round.

"The main thing is that it's a home draw," said Clough. "We've done enough travelling in the last few weeks, and so have the fans. It's an opportunity - but that's all it is - to get to the fourth round."

  13. VAR will be in usepublished at 12:49 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2020

There are six games today featuring Premier League teams. Four of those will have VAR in use.

There's bound to be some use of it so it's worth keeping an eye on.

Let's hope so, but it will take some doing. WHAT a strike by Fulham's Harry Arter. He'll be watching that one back again and again.
