  1. 'Big chance for Obika'published at 16:20

    St Mirren 0-2 Celtic

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

It was a big chance for Obika, but Forster came up at the right time with a great save for Celtic. That could have brought St Mirren right back into this game.

  2. CLOSE!published at 64 mins

    Ross County 1-0 Motherwell

Billy McKay almost doubles Ross County's lead. It's a low trundling shot on his left-hand side from the edge of the box, but it flies just by the far post. Certainly no sign of County parking the bus here.

  3. Rangers 0-0 Kilmarnockpublished at 60 mins

Rangers are stung into action as Alan Power's low drive forces a save from home goalkeeper Allan McGregor.

The Glasgow side race to the other end and Laurientiu Branescu has to push away Ryan Kent's curling effort as it heads for the far corner.

  4. Hamilton 0-0 St Johnstonepublished at 60 mins

Superb skill from Mickel Miller to drive into the final third, dancing round tackles from the Saints defence, but Murray Davidson brings him down on the edge of the box and was cautioned for his efforts. The resulting free-kick 20 yards out from Will Collar was tame, off the wall.

  5. Jullien's header 'not difficult'published at 16:16

    St Mirren 0-2 Celtic

    Steven Thompson
Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

Jullien should have scored - it wasn't a difficult header but sadly it just went over the top. It should have been on target.

  6. CLOSE!published at 59 mins

    St Mirren 0-2 Celtic

Celtic defender Christopher Jullien should at least hit the target as he rises highest to meet Ryan Christie's free-kick with a header that narrowly clears the crossbar.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 57 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Kilmarnock

Borna Barisic tests Laurentiu Branescu, but the Kilmarnock goalkeeper does well to smother the left-back's drive from the edge of the penalty area.

  8. 'We need the quality to score,' laments Stendelpublished at 16:14

    FT: Hearts 0-2 Hibernian

It's not been a great start for Daniel Stendel, with the bottom of the league Hearts head coach losing his first four matches - three of those at home.

The German told BBC Sportsound: "We showed in the second half that we can control a game. We dominated but we need the quality to score.

"We are losing games but it is not always about the opposition, a lot of times it is about our behaviour in defence.

"We have a big squad. Maybe too big. We need to know which players are coming back from injuries in January. We will talk about some options but the next game is Aberdeen and then we will see."

  9. RED CARD for Ross County's Lewis Spencepublished at 58 mins

    Ross County 1-0 Motherwell

No complaints from Lewis Spence who is given a straight red. Sherwin Seedorf is sent scampering through on goal, only to be tripped by the County man. There was not much attempt to play the ball, and he receives an early bath.

With County already defending a one-goal lead, will any encouragement for them to frustrate Motherwell be welcomed? The Steelmen have half an hour to go...

  10. CLOSE!published at 56 mins

    St Mirren 0-2 Celtic

It's all happening here in Paisley. Celtic defender Christopher Jullien is spared punishment for swiping his arm at Jon Obika and St Mirren then miss a glorious chance as Ryan Flann sidefoots a Junior Morias cross wide from six yards.

  11. Hamilton 0-0 St Johnstonepublished at 56 mins

Mickel Miller skips past a tackle from Anthony Ralston into a dangerous position but is unable to keep his cross in the park, after Stevie May had skied a shot at the other side following a tackle from Will Collar on the edge of the box. Still no clear-cut chances, but it does seem both sides have stepped up a gear.

  12. CLOSE!published at 54 mins

    Aberdeen 1-0 Livingston

Livingston almost take full advantage of a set-piece as Ricki Lamie gets a head to it and watches his attempt loop towards the back post but it lands a few feet wide of Joe Lewis' left post.

  13. Rangers 0-0 Kilmarnockpublished at 50 mins

Substitutes Alfredo Morelos and Steven Davis are out warming up for Rangers as another chance goes begging for Steven Gerrard's side, Ryan Kent heading over from a Borna Barisic cross.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 53 mins

    St Mirren 0-2 Celtic

Vaclav Hladky to the rescue - twice - for the hosts. First the marauding James Forrest is denied by the Saints keeper, who then superbly tips a Jeremie Frimpong effot wide.

  15. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 49 mins

    St Mirren 0-2 Celtic

Saints avoid further damage as Odsonne Edouard superbly takes down a Scott Brown pass and coolly slots beyond Vaclav Hladky but is denied by the offside flag. It looks a very close call...

  16. St Mirren 0-2 Celticpublished at 47 mins

Early second-half scare for Celtic as Jeremie Frimpong stays down after being fouled by Sean McLoughlin. The 19-year-old receives treatment before limping to the sidelines and bounding back on to the pitch.

Christopher Jullien then takes a sore one in the midriff but is fine to carry on.

  17. 'Hibs need to keep doing fundamentals'published at 16:05

    FT: Hearts 0-2 Hibernian

Jack Ross enjoyed his first taste of the Edinburgh derby as Hibs claimed the spoils at Tynecastle thanks to a first-half double from the lightning fast Martin Boyle.

"Martin is a great threat wherever he plays," the Easter Road boss told BBC Sportsound. "Today, I think it suited him to play through the middle.

"I always knew he was quick but he’s a good player as well. He has good awareness and his finishing is very good. The first one was a terrific finish.

Martin Boyle scored both of Hibs' goals at Tynecastle in the Boxing Day early kick-off

"Look at Scott Allan’s involvement in the two goals. It’s a side of the game that people probably don’t see from him that often – and don’t give him enough credit for. One he’s hooked on and one he’s put pressure on Loic Damour and won the ball back.

"We’re encouraging the team to do more of that because we know we’re a good side in possession, it’s just making sure we do that fundamental side of the game properly as well."

  18. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:00

Ready for the second half? Superb, here we go across the country!

  19. 'Aberdeen have been slightly better'published at 15:59

    HT: Aberdeen 1-0 Livingston

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

Aberdeen have been the slightly better team in the first half, but Livingston are coming back into it. It's been a decent enough game in terms of possession, but not a lot happening in front of goal.

  20. From the press boxpublished at 15:58 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2019

    HT: Rangers 0-0 Kilmarnock
