  1. CLOSE!published at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2020

    Liverpool 0-0 Southampton

A mistake by Roberto Firmino lets in Danny Ings in front of The Kop.

In-form Ings looks certain to score but his finish hits a team-mate and the chance is gone.

Then Shane Long thumps an effort towards the net but it's straight at Alisson.

Liverpool are rocking at the back - they're definitely not having things their own way.

  2. goal

GOAL - Watford 2-0 Evertonpublished at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2020

    Roberto Pereyra

Another for the hosts, and full deserved!

Everton fail to clear their lines and Troy Deeney picks up the ball, lays it into Roberto Pereyra's path and the midfielder breaks into the area before firing a confident finish into the back of the net.

Move over Sam Allardyce, Nigel Pearson is now the master of guiding sides away from relegation trouble.

  3. Postpublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2020

Is there even any point in the ref being there in Liverpool games?

I'm an Arsenal fan - and I can't believe there are folks claiming 23 wins in 24 is anything other than the masterclass that it is - just plain sad there's such bitterness

    Newcastle 0-0 Norwich

    Alistair Magowan
BBC Sport at St James' Park

Newcastle are a good defensive unit, but, boy, do they like to sit deep. It says something when the whole Gallowgate End is telling the hosts to push up when the ball is cleared.

It's Norwich who keep knocking on the door, though. They play some great football despite sitting bottom of the pile.

  6. Postpublished at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2020

    Liverpool 0-0 Southampton

Free-kick to Liverpool just outside the Saints penalty area.

The Reds take an age to line it up before Trent Alexander-Arnold's attempt brushes the wall and goes out for a corner.

  7. goal

GOAL - Bournemouth 1-0 Aston Villapublished at 15:37 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2020

    Philip Billing

Another big goal in the relegation battle!

A cross is headed back into the middle of the box where Philip Billing is unmarked to swipe into the back of the net.

  8. Postpublished at 15:36 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2020

    Bournemouth 0-0 Aston Villa

Aaron Ramsdale makes a crucial save as he stretches to block a low Frederic Guilbert cross. If he failed to deal with that there was another Aston Villa player waiting at the back post to tap in.

  9. Brighton in drop zonepublished at 15:35 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2020

With West Ham and Watford both winning, Brighton have dropped into the relegation zone in the 'as it stands' table.

  10. 'A frantic game'published at 15:33 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2020

    Liverpool 0-0 Southampton

    Stephen Kelly
Former Reading and Fulham defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Shane Long's leaned on Roberto Firmino but I'm not too sure if he can get to it... I'm surprised. Long's arms are around his neck as it's come in. But Virgil van Dijk's run and back-heel before that was delightful - if that had gone in, give him the Ballon d'Or now!

It's a frantic game and both teams are really going for it.

    Liverpool 0-0 Southampton

Liverpool are knocking on the door.

Double save from Alex McCarthy to keep out Virgil van Dijk's cheeky back-heel before denying Roberto Firmino.

Then Firmino goes down with Shane Long leaning all over him.

Liverpool want a penalty - VAR says no!

    West Ham 1-0 Brighton

    Tim Cahill
Former Everton midfielder on Final Score

Great finish. It has been set-play after set-play and they have been rewarded.

  13. 'Reina is a clever signing'published at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2020

    Bournemouth 0-0 Aston Villa

    Karen Carney
Former England winger on Final Score

The game is end-to-end and scrappy, we are just lacking a bit of quality. But I am impressed with Pepe Reina. He looks really comfortable considering he is fairly new to the team. He looks solid and has been astute the couple of times he has been called upon. I think that is a really good, clever, experienced signing.

  14. goal

GOAL - West Ham 1-0 Brightonpublished at 15:30 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2020

    Issa Diop (30 mins)

    Big goal!

Brighton will rue some crucial missed chances as the hosts take the lead. Robert Snodgrass sends a free kick into the box and Issa Diop pokes out a boot to stab home.

That goal is enough to move the Hammers back out of the relegation zone as things stand while putting Brighton into it.

  15. CLOSE!published at 15:29 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2020

    Bournemouth 0-0 Aston Villa

Oh my! It really should be 1-0 to Bournemouth.

The Aston Villa defence is ripped open by some excellent, quick passing on the right side of the box. The ball is then played into the middle of the box for Dan Gosling, who has the goal at his mercy but fires over.

Ari: Re 16:16 - Take the tin foil hats off. It's getting silly with these conspiracies. Liverpool are where they are because they're the best team around.

Bob Moss: Do Liverpool no longer get penalised for fouls, handball, etc. I missed that change in the laws of football.

  17. Postpublished at 15:28 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2020

    Liverpool 0-0 Southampton

Southampton aren't at Anfield for a day out.

Moussa Djenepo has a pop from 20 yards and Alisson is forced to parry it behind for a corner.

That was swerving a lot thanks to the blustery conditions.

    Watford 1-0 Everton

Djibril Sidibe tries to find Dominic Calvert-Lewin but the ball into the box is just over the striker's head. Toffees are pressing a bit now, though.

Andrew Dickson: Southampton’s high press lasted all of 15 mins. They’ve dropped back already. Dangerous.

Keith Chapman: Villa will score today! Grealish will be the player to open it up!

Tipsforlife: Come on LMW and Charles. Liverpool don't employ the referee, Klopp doesn't involve himself in pre or post match comments trying to pressure officials. Let's just get on with it. This team deserve to be where they are.

  20. Postpublished at 15:26 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2020

    Liverpool 0-0 Southampton

Alex McCarthy is forced into his first serious save but it's a pretty tame effort by Georginio Wijnaldum who can't get enough power into his shot after digging out a chance.

Southampton will be happy with this start.
