Just a piece of transfer news from Roy Hodgson in the pre-match interviews. Nathan Ferguson [West Brom defender] was due to sign for Crystal Palace on the night of the deadline but the move broke down. A deal was agreed but he failed his medical - hence the transfer wasn't completed.

Tell you what, Newcastle might be 14th in the Premier League table but they have one of the best keepers in the division - Martin Dubravka has made two superb stops already and I think he still leads the top-flight for most saves made.

It's pretty tenacious from both sides, there's been a really high tempo to the game. Southampton have really pressed Liverpool, they've not allowed them to pass the ball, and I think the wind is holding the ball up and not allowing Liverpool to play those long balls as accurately as they usually do.

As things stand, Watford are moving out of the relegation zone and two points clear of the bottom three. Long way to go but they are looking comfortable in this game.

Charles Meyrick: VAR always seems to be taking a bathroom break when there's something to review in favour of Liverpool's opponents.
