Feel sorry for Theo Walcott - and in some ways those last few minutes are the story of his career - seems to hit great form, and then suffers an injury... hopefully for him and Everton it'll be nothing serious.

That goal woke the crowd up but there is a sense of disappointment and worry as Theo Walcott is applauded as he makes his way around the pitch.

Let's hope the injury is not too serious after that delightful cross for the goal.

    Everton 1-0 Crystal Palace

Djibril Sidibe disappeared back down the tunnel before appearing on the touchline ready to come on... Everton finally back up to 11.

In the meantime they go close again through Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but the in-form striker can't quite get his head to a neat Bernard delivery.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 24 mins

    Everton 1-0 Crystal Palace

And that will be the end of Theo Walcott's afternoon - his superb cross set up the Everton opener, but he will make way for Djibril Sidibe... who isn't yet ready to come on?!

Carlo Ancelotti not looking happy. The Toffees down to 10 men for the moment.

Josh Earl: Brilliant volley, made it look easy

Paul: That Everton goal was partly the fault of Wilf Zaha. He could have passed it. He didn't. He could have cleared it. He didn't. What he did do was try to selfishly dribble past people and ended up giving it away and a few seconds later the goal came

    Everton 1-0 Crystal Palace

And that means no clean sheet in 10 for Crystal Palace now, the longest run in the Premier League.

  7. Postpublished at 21 mins

    Everton 1-0 Crystal Palace

Those words of wisdom from Carlo Ancelotti - "Theo, you're allowed to score" - have worked wonders for the winger. Scored the winner last week, set up his side's first today...

But now he's down getting treatment.

  8. 'Amazing ability'published at 12:49 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2020

    Michael Brown
Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder on BBC 5 Live

That was all about the cross. Amazing ability from Theo Walcott to work some space and whip over a deep cross for Bernard at the back post .

It's an excellent finish on the volley as well.

    Bernard (18 mins)

    Brilliant!

Everton manage to work space on the right for Theo Walcott to whip in a deep delivery and arriving at the back post unmarked is Bernard.

The diminutive Brazilian watches the flight of the ball, opens up his body and lashes it side-footed on the volley into the top corner.

Superb finish, from Everton's first real chance.

  10. Postpublished at 16 mins

    Everton 0-0 Crystal Palace

Richarlison and Jordan Ayew are both down clutching their heads - they ran into each other at a Palace free-kick, looked accidental. Both are back on their feet and looking OK. No need for the magic sponge.

  11. CLOSE!published at 14 mins

    Everton 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Off the post!

Patrick van Aanholt, who somehow pops up on the right of the box, cuts on to his left and fizzes in a low effort from a narrow angle.

It clips the post and stays out. Best chance of the game so far.

Quiet start at Goodison, where the crowd are yet to be roused other than that early Gylfi Sigurdsson free-kick.

Carlo Ancelotti stands statesmanlike on the touchline, but his team are yet to click yet as the Palace fans sing the old 'This is a library' chant.

    But here come Palace.

  13. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Everton 0-0 Crystal Palace

Great work from Christian Benteke, taking on Michael Keane and winning a corner.

Gary Cahill gets a flick, three Everton players end up on the floor but eventually it's scrambled away for a throw-in.

  14. 'Not ideal'published at 12:41 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2020

    Everton 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Michael Brown
Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder on BBC 5 Live

The sun is not ideal for Vicente Guaita at the moment but he's made one good save already.

James McCarthy's challenge there...the old Michael Brown would have been calling for play on!

  15. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Everton 0-0 Crystal Palace

Lucas Digne whips it deep and Yerry Mina's eyes light up at the back post - two goals for the defender last week at Watford, but he can't direct this one on target.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 10 mins

    Everton 0-0 Crystal Palace

No love lost from James McCarthy on his return to Goodison... he dives in on Lucas Digne and catches the full-back's toe. Into the book the Palace midfielder goes.

  17. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Everton 0-0 Crystal Palace

First chance for Patrick van Aanholt to attack down the Crystal Palace left but his pass into Wilfried Zaha is loose and Jordan Pickford scoops it up.

Zaha takes up a spot on that flank moments later and has a good tussle with Seamus Coleman - the Toffees full-back will have his hands full today...

  18. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Everton 0-0 Crystal Palace

Palace are struggling a touch to get out of their own half early on, they're sitting deep and letting Everton knock it around before going direct on the counter.

Lucas Digne takes a knock in a collision with Jordan Ayew but looks as if he'll be OK.

Graham Clinton: Makes me very nervous when pre-match chat is so positive, definitely going to blow it now.

  20. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Everton 0-0 Crystal Palace

Early chance for Lucas Digne to deliver, or have a dig...

Looks too far out for a shot on goal but the Frenchman tries his luck anyway, it clips the wall and Vicente Guaita is forced into a low save to his right.

Good hit from the Everton left-back.
