Gylfi Sigurdsson with the feet of Diego Maradona to somehow squeeze between three Palace defenders in the tightest of spaces in the box, before poking his toe out and forcing Vicente Guaita into a one-handed save. Lovely footwork, just couldn't find the finish.

    How has he not scored!

This game has suddenly come to life.

    Richarlison (58 mins)

    Ruthless from Richarlison!

It's just a long ball forward from Everton that is helped on by Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

It finds Richarlison inside the visitors' half and he gets Gary Cahill back-pedalling into the penalty area before sliding an effort right-footed into the bottom corner.

Crystal Palace had hit the post only moments earlier...

Palace fans in full voice after that rare Christian Benteke goal, but a lot of Everton supporters sounded bemused at how that strike got through Jordan Pickford.

When they watch the replays on TV, it will reveal all. It ain't pretty.

Lots of frustration now as Everton let Palace back into this.

Very poor goal to concede from Jordan Pickford.

Wilfried Zaha is allowed to turn and pick out Christian Benteke. You'd expect him to go across the keeper but he hits it right at him and it goes straight through.

It's been a really good response from Crystal Palace.

But that is a howler from Jordan Pickford.

Christian Benteke drives into the box, fires low towards goal with his right foot and it's straight at the England stopper.

Pickford goes down, but gets his guard all wrong and it squeezes in at the near post.

Mr Hartley, Leeds: I actually think Everton or Sheffield United could actually take that 4th spot as those around them have European commitments and injuries.

Dom and pals, Ambleside: That we're talking about Everton in touch with champions league places is absolutely remarkable. Liverpool aside this is the most even league in my memory. Anyone can beat anyone

    Everton 1-0 Crystal Palace

Everton in a mess of their own making, after a dodgy ball across the top of the box from Yerry Mina to Michael Keane, who knocks it hurriedly back to Jordan Pickford and he shanks his clearance out of play.

There's absolute panic in the Toffees box from the throw as Wilfried Zaha hits an effort into the ground, Mina misses his kick and eventually Pickford comes Superman-ing out of his goal and is fouled.
