Aston Villa keeper Pepe Reina on Sky Sports: "We all make mistakes and Bjorn has had a brilliant game but it happens. We need to cheer him up now.
"I have been through that and it's football - we make the errors and learn from them. He probably won't sleep much tonight but tomorrow is another day."
"We have to take the positives. During the winter break we trained very well - there was a lot of intensity.
"We want to be more consistent and concede less goals but we will work on that."

Daniel Cheng: I think Aubameyang's most effective position is down the middle now with Lacazette dropped he can be at his most potent flanked by Pepe and Nketiah. As much as I love Laca he's restricted Auba's natural threat.

Good news: Just in time for kick-off, an orange-coloured spherical object has appeared in the sky.
Bad news: Both teams come into this game on the back of 0-0 league draws.

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho to BBC Sport: "I thought we deserved to win but I think they did not deserve to lose. Villa played to win."
On the Spurs penalty: "Steven Bergwijn, I don't know if I call him naive, or too honest - the referees tell us 'pre-match don't ask for anything, don't surround me, don't do the motion of the screen'. The action was there and it was a question of to be or not to be and clearly it was."
On Alderweireld's contribution: "In a funny way I'd say he's scored three goals: the own goal, his goal and then when he loses the duel with Engels. but he scored with a shot of his life with a new baby this week."
On the opportunity to get into the Champions League by finishing fifth: "Not just for us. A window opens for many teams. What seemed far, now the fifth place is not far. Arsenal, Everton, Sheffield United, Wolves... everyone will feel they have the chance."

Newcastle's average of 9.9 shots per game is their lowest in the Premier League since Opta began recording such data in 1997-98.

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith to Sky Sports: "We have to try and take the positives. The last two games we've scored late winners here, so now we know how it feels on the other foot. We had chances to win the game but we weren't clinical enough.
"They have a front four that can hurt anyone, that's why we had to get forward and defend on the front foot. On the whole I thought we dealt with them really well but we're disappointed with the goals we conceded.
"We probably gave away too many chances from counter attacks, which they're good at, but we didn't deserve to lose that.
"It was a good performance against a team that are fifth in the league but we deserved more than that."
On VAR awarding Spurs a penalty: "No-one in the stadium thought it was a penalty - not even the player who went down. It took two minutes to come to the decision which shows it wasn't clear and obvious. Why Martin Atkinson doesn't walk over to the monitor and have a quick look I don't know. In my opinion they've turned over a good decision by the referee."
On the Bjorn Engels mistake: "He's tried to bring it down instead of putting it back over their centre-halve's head, it's a mistake and they happen all over the pitch."
Arsenal v Newcastle (16:30 GMT)
Newcastle boss Steve Bruce believes international friendlies or a cup competition should be scrapped to help protect players.
Their winter break was shortened from 15 days to 12 because they had to play an FA Cup replay against Oxford on Tuesday.
They played 15 games between 5 December and 4 February.
"You can't keep asking the top players to play Saturday and Tuesday for evermore," Bruce said.
He added: "We keep asking players to play tired. Here, we have had people question the training methods - it's nonsense, it's playing tired players."

Arsenal
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta: "I think we have to generate some defensive stability, but not by defending deep. I don't like that.
"It's by defending high and pressing the opponent as much as possible. But the process - together as many times as possible in the most efficient way - has to be done properly from here.
"If not, in two passes when you arrive there, that transition is impossible to control because you are too far from the opponent. So we need to do that well first to be able to generate and sustain our attacks as many times as possible during the games."

Nick: As an Arsenal fan, I hate that I've lost count of the number of times that Son has won a game in injury time due to an opponent's mistake. Galling.
Arsenal v Newcastle (16:30 GMT)
I think the fact the Gunners are 10 points off fourth and a Champions League spot takes the pressure off them. It would be just like Arsenal to go on a run that puts them back in contention for that.
Prediction: 2-0

Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld to BBC MOTD: "The last week has been unbelievable for me with the birth of my son but I haven't slept - I had to travel eight hours yesterday and then I made a mistake which was hard to deal with but I was happy to help the team with the goal.
"On pure chances, we had more open chances than them. We could have got the game finished a lot earlier. But getting a last minute winner is not too bad."
On his own goal: "It wasn't easy. The wind, the block and the spin, and I thought Hugo might be coming. But we have to move on and realise sometimes we make mistakes."
On their upcoming games: "It's a big win for us cause it's a big week. We have Champions League and then Chelsea next weekend."
Arsenal v Newcastle (16:30 GMT)
Newcastle United
Newcastle United head coach Steve Bruce: "We've got 13 games to go and have got ourselves in a decent position. It gives us the platform to have a decent season.
"I think we've done okay. We've had huge problems over six weeks and fair play to the squad for showing that resilience."

The press box at Arsenal is in the bottom tier so you are quite close to the players on the touchline.
Will get a decent view of Nicolas Pepe zooming up and down this flank this afternoon.
Always think it's a bit harsh when the subs are made to warm up separately from those in the starting XI, but the likes of Matt Ritchie and Christian Atsu still seem in good spirits.

Spurs goalscorer Son Heung-min on Sky Sports: "The run up to my penalty was the same v Southampton, I was waiting for the keeper to move but he stood up and it was a great save but I didn't give up and luckily I scored. I was happy to help the team.
"We were 1-0 down so we showed our character and we didn't give up. I felt bad because I had a couple of chances to score but I got the winning goal which makes me very happy and I think the lads deserved the win."
Team-mate, and fellow goalscorer, Toby Alderweireld added: "It wasn't my best performance. It was a beautiful week for me with the birth of my son but yesterday I had to travel eight hours so it was difficult - my legs were not sharp. But I'm happy to help the team with the goal, the lads helped me today."

Match of the Day commentator
It has been 25 years since Arsenal finished a season outside the top six. They are currently 11th.
Mikel Arteta was never likely to be a magic wand - and so it has proved. A 37-year-old taking his first job was hardly likely to reverse overnight a decline that has been more than a decade in the making. He needs time, and probably lots of it.
Of all the terrible statistics around Arsenal, perhaps the worst is that only Norwich and Watford have won fewer Premier League games this season.
However, whatever else might be going wrong, beating Newcastle has normally come pretty easily to Arsenal. The Gunners have won 13 of the past 14 league meetings, and the last seven in London.
