Brighton have had to dig deep most of the game, Sheffield United have had them pinned back. I can't recall Brighton having a chance in the second half - it's been all Sheffield United.

How much longer do us the fans have to suffer with VAR. Even when they watch the screen they can't get to the right decision. If VAR continues we will see half empty stadiums as supporters will not pay for a game being ruined by incompetent officials and rules.

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Newcastle

A double change for Crystal Palace in the final few minutes as Christian Benteke and Cheikhou Kouyate are replaced by Cenk Tosun and Jairo Riedewald. Just a couple of minutes of normal time remaining.

Sheffield United piling on the late pressure as a stramash is just about cleared. Now the Blades have a free-kick in a dangerous spot.

Lundstram is a lucky boy. That could have caused a serious injury.

  9. goal

GOAL - Burnley 3-0 Bournemouthpublished at 16:44 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2020

    Dwight McNeil (87 mins)

What a good goal that is! Dwight McNeil runs at the Bournemouth defence, and they haven't been confortable with that all game. He twists and turns, they back off, so he just smashes home from the edge of the box.

    McNeil has been class today.

Agonising for Che Adams as Pepe Reina loses the ball but the striker's shot is blocked on the line.

VAR needs the equivalent of crickets 'umpires call'. Don't measure offsides by millimetres, don't view handballs over and over, if VAR isn't sure after a few viewings just go with 'referees call' and their on-field decision.

    Geoff, Bournemouth.

Lewis Dunk is not happy at all about that challenge. If today has proven anything it's that if you don't get sent off by the ref on the pitch you've got to do something pretty horrific for VAR to show you a red.

Substitute Matt Ritchie goes in the book for a foul on Jordan Ayew. That's literally the only thing to report from this game with nothing else really going on.

Football has become as popular as it is because of the raw emotion that it creates within us supporters. The pure joy of a winning goal to the despair when events transpire against our team. VAR kills the spirit, joy and romance of the game by robbing those moments from us fans. In the unachievable pursuit of perfection the powers that be have forgotten the essence of what football is all about......these are sad days for the sport I have come to love.

John Lundstram is high on Lewis Dunk and that's not great. They're watching this closely on the replay...

    No red card.

Khan Karn: Got to feel for Lundstram. Been fantastic all season and has to make way for big money Berge and still on the bench after his winner last time out

Richard Philipps: As a villa fan this is shocking. With Terry as a coach and you would think defence would improve- clearly not

Good build-up play down that left. You've got to say, Oli McBurnie works hard for the side, but he's not a natural finisher. He's a bit clumsy round the box and doesn't look confident striking the ball. That was a glorious chance at this level of football.

  18. Postpublished at 16:40 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2020

Proper air shot from Oli McBurnie when well placed. Was that the chance for United?

  19. Postpublished at 16:39 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2020

Che Adams scored 22 times for Birmingham in the Championship last season but he is yet to get off the mark for Southampton. He's not going to either with shots like this as he swipes well wide.

  20. 'Sheffield United have dominated'published at 16:39 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2020

    Sheffield United 1-1 Brighton

    Chris Waddle

The only way Brighton are going to score is with a free-kick. In general play though, Sheffield United have dominated.
