  8. 'I've been practising my Cruyff turns'published at 13:50 British Summer Time 12 June 2021

    Wales v Switzerland (14:00 BST)

Midfielder Jonny Williams is hoping to emulate Hal Robson-Kanu by inspiring Wales to Euros success as a free agent.

Williams was released by Cardiff City at the end of the season, despite only joining from Charlton in February.

Robson-Kanu was unattached when he scored an iconic goal in the Euro 2016 quarter-final win over Belgium, and now Williams hopes to showcase himself at this summer's delayed Euro 2020.

"I've been practising my Cruyff turns like Hal," he joked.

Steve Clarke's side host the Czech Republic on Monday before visiting England next Friday.

Croatia come to Hampden for their final Group D match on 22 June.

"Our position was - and remains - that the focus must be on meaningful change to fight discrimination in football and wider society," said Clarke.

Personally, I think there are more holes in his prediction for today's game than in a piece of Swiss cheese. I urge him to make his selections more Caerphilly.

Anyway, that'll Brie enough of that. I've Gouda stop.

Speaking to staff at the Baku Olympic Stadium earlier, it sounds like they’re expecting a crowd of around 7,500 today.

The majority of spectators will be from Azerbaijan, and most of them will be rooting for Wales according to Fariz Huseynaliyev, who is working as a volunteer during Euro 2020.

“Azerbaijani fans will be supporting Wales because of Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Daniel James,” he says.

“It will be different when Wales play Turkey. Everyone from Azerbaijan will support Turkey because they are our brother country.

“But today they will support Wales.”

That comes despite governments and the Welsh FA advising against travelling abroad in light of Covid.

But some are determined to attend Wales’ first game against Switzerland and their second against Turkey in Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku.

“Even if there is only a few hundred of us, we can make a lot of noise,” said fan Richard Collier.

I am not disappointed with the side at all.

That is one of the strongest, if not the strongest side we have got.

I would have gone with (Wayne) Hennessey in goal. He's going to be disappointed. There's a big onus now on (Danny) Ward.
