    Wales 0-0 Switzerland

Flying run by Dan James and Fabian Schar clatters him, cyincally.

Freekick now, just outside the area.

Wrong side for Gareth Bale, but it's still Gareth Bale.

I said Kevin Mbabu was everywhere and I'm glad to see that shown by the stats.

It's been a bit like Leonardo Spinazzola last night.

Switzerland averaged over 70% possession in the opening 20 minutes or so, and they're favouring attacks along their right side where Kevin Mbabu in particular is seeing plenty of the ball.

It was far too easy for Switzerland to get the ball wide and then put the ball into the box under no pressure.

  6. CLOSE!published at 27 mins

    Wales 0-0 Switzerland

Haris Seferovic swivels and shoots and his shot is inches wide.

    A major let off.

Wales will concede soon if they can't get the ball higher up the pitch.

Acrobatic defending from Connor Roberts and then Granit Xhaka fires wide.

Wales are conceding possession in their own half too much for their fans liking at the moment.

    Robbie Savage
    Ex-Wales midfielder on BBC One

Wales are trying to make the pitch as wide as possible at the moment with Dan James and Gareth Bale going wide. You just wonder if Kieffer Moore drops in, could Aaron Ramsey run beyond?

  10. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Wales 0-0 Switzerland

Wales give the ball away and have to hold their defensive line well as Switzerland can only fashion a chance off target.

A quarter of the way through and there is nothing in this at all.

Magnificent technique from Fabian Schar. It was good positioning though from Danny Ward. It has been a good start from the Wales goalkeeper.

That will do Danny Ward the world of good - a very good save with his legs.

But you do have to ask, how does he get that space in the first place?

I think he got the run on Mepham.

  13. CLOSE!published at 20 mins

    Wales 0-0 Switzerland

Now Danny Ward makes a great save.

Fabian Schar got on the end of a clever corner, but Ward saved with his feet.

This feels a little like a game of tactical chicken at the moment. Who can prise the opposition furthest forward and most out of shape?

Kieffer Moore is set for a full head bandage as he receives treatment.

    That's a major tournament staple.

What a save. What play from Dan James and that's why Kieffer Moore is in the team.

Brilliant play to generate the power back across the goalkeeper. It was a wonderful save.

This is Switzerland's fifth meeting with a British nation at a major tournament.

They've lost three of their previous four, drawing the other.

Brilliant by Dan James down the left. He puts a lovely left-footed cross in.

Kieffer Moore has so much to do. He is eight or nine yards out, uses his neck muscles and goes across the keeper.

In fairness he makes a fine save.

    What a save!

Dan James cross, Kieffer Moore header, wonderful save.
