"Thanks Jacky! Told you he should have started you against Scotland!"

Czech players harrying and snapping and doubling up on England players as they try to build from the back. A night when attack is the best form of defence and the only tactic needs the that we're going to score one more than them. Might be a very good watch!

It's almost like everyone apart from Southgate knew Grealish would make a difference.

Huge cheers around Wembley as the news of Croatia's goal goes up on the big screens and the chant starts: "Scotland's going home."
Oh dear. Not very sympathetic at all.
Czech Republic 0-1 England
Sterling has had two touches in the Czech box. He hit the post with a shot from the first and scored from a header with the second...
Sterling is only the second player to score each of England's first two goals at a Euros tournament after Alan Shearer in 1996, with all four goals among the two players coming at Wembley.
Oh, and England have won all 11 previous matches when Raheem Sterling has scored.
Czech Republic 0-1 England
It's played short to Vladimir Darida but he's immediately pressed by Raheem Sterling and Bukayo Saka.
Kyle Walker is then caught late as England have the ball back in their own half.
Czech Republic 0-1 England
Vladimir Coufal is trodden on by Luke Shaw on the right touchline and the Czech Republic have a set-piece in a decent position here...

It was a wonderful goal. It's exactly what the fans needed, just a goal early on to steady the nerves because it was a sharp start from the Czechs but the fans are absolutely buzzing now! Sterling - brilliant finish from him.
Disaster for Scotland as Nikola Vlasic has just given Croatia the lead at Hampden Park.
Czech Republic 0-1 England
It's whipped in from the left by Luke Shaw as England have a corner. Bukayo Saka picks it up on the edge of the box, beats one player then gets caught late by another. The referee disagrees!
England's opener against the Czech Republic sees them top of the group, with the Czechs going through in second as things stand.
Croatia and Scotland are both going out if they draw their game at Hampden Park.
Czech Republic 0-1 England
Bukayo Saka puts pressure on the full-back. Kyle Walker backs him up, sprinting after the keeper and England win the ball back.
Jack Grealish then wins a free-kick in the left corner, which Saka will take.
Czech Republic 0-1 England

Great bit of play. Eventually Saka gets a great cross in, it ends up with Grealish's feet. Kane gives it back and then they show him the line, he gets to the byline, stands a beautiful cross. Sterling's there two yards out, what a goal. A great ball by Jack Grealish and Sterling is there again.
Czech Republic 0-1 England
That all came from Bukayo Saka's run in midfield. The atmosphere is electric.
Wembley is in full party mode.
Raheem Sterling
GOAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!!!
Guess who has the assist? Lord Jack Grealish.
He drives at the defender on the left, chips it towards the back post, it goes over Bukayo Saka's header and Raheem Sterling is there to nod it in.
England lead at Wembley and they are top of the group as it stands!
Czech Republic 0-0 England

Lots of eyes on Harry Kane tonight after his poor start to Euro 2020. He has been busy and involved, dropping deep and trying one or two ambitious passes - and one very ambitious shot from long range.
Bit of a scare when he took a heavy knock but he is up and running now.
Czech Republic 0-0 England

This Czech team is very organised, they press very hard and aggressively especially from the front foot so any time the midfielders have it they are passing back all the time because there is constant pressure. I'm just watching Pickford, he's trying to give confidence to Maguire because it's his first start in a while and credit to Stones who is backing him all the time. But it's been a difficult start for England because of the pressure from Czech Republic.
Czech Republic 0-0 England
The Czech Republic are happy enough for England to have the ball. Remember, a draw will do them.
England go long this time and Bukayo Saka nods it down for Harry Kane, who fires over from long range.
Czech Republic 0-0 England
It's sent in deep from Luke Shaw actually. John Stones gets on the end of it at the back post but he can't keep it in play.

Chris: Can Kane play any further back without being in goal?
Kit: Kane coming all the way back to collect the ball off the back four twice within the first five minutes of this game says everything about the movement of our midfield.
