  1. 'Grealish plays like he doesn't care - in a good way'published at 19:49 British Summer Time 22 June 2021

Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I would go as far as to say that you do need to play like you don't care. With certain mindsets it really does help, it's almost like you've done the work, you've proven your worth, you've got tour opportunity and once that whistle goes your body relaxes especially like that type of position that Jack Grealish plays, you've got to play like you don't care. Then it just happens. Your talent speaks, you relinquish any inhibitions that you might have, any tension that might hold you back in any way. He sounds and plays like that player that doesn't care on the pitchb - in a good way. He's willing to get on the ball. he himself and let his character show. We're all crying out for an attacking performance from England tonight that shows that.

Former Republic of Ireland midfielder Roy Keane: "Jack has to take his chance because if players like him don't turn up and perform for England they are the first to be left out.

"There are not many plyers like Jack around, and they are the ones that make the difference."

Former England defender and coach Gary Neville: "He has the country in his hands tonight and I really hope he delivers. He could really bring this tournament alive for England.

"Gareth [Southgate] has to think about how England are going to win this tournament. Clean sheets and players in the team that can bring moments. Jack Grealish can do that."

Ex England forward Ian Wright: "Go forth and do your creating. When he gets the ball he goes and injects pace."

The Czechs have conceded nine goals in their three games at Wembley against England, scoring only two (D1 L2). Their only previous major tournament game at Wembley was the final of Euro 96 - they lost 2-1 to Germany in extra time.

The four previous meetings between the Czech Republic and England have produced 14 goals, an average of 3.5 per game.

Paul: If Harry Kane is not doing it again tonight Southgate has to take him off again and use Calvert-Lewin, who may not be as good a finisher but has the pace to drag defenders to places the don't want to go.

The crowd capacity at Wembley will be raised to more than 60,000 for the semi-finals and final of Euro 2020, says the UK government.

It means the stadium will be at 75% capacity for the games.

The increase will also see the largest crowds assembled for a sporting event in the UK in more than 15 months.

  8. 'Usually get better as they progress'published at 19:40 British Summer Time 22 June 2021

Czech Republic v England (20:00 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Top spot in Group D is at stake here, and England need to win to take it.

To do that, they will have to play better than they did against Scotland. They looked a bit frightened in that one and let the Scots dictate the tempo and to me it feels like Gareth Southgate's side haven't got started their tournament started yet.

People went overboard when England won their opening game against a Croatia side who are a little long in the tooth. I don't think they offer enough of a threat when they play with two defensive midfielders, and Harry Kane is getting criticised despite hardly getting a pass.

All of this is pretty normal for them in major finals, though. They usually get better as the tournament progresses - and they need to do the same this time too.

  12. 'Hard to say if Maguire gamble is right or wrong'published at 19:35 British Summer Time 22 June 2021

Czech Republic v England (20:00 BST)

    Matt Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think it's very difficult from the outside to say what's right or wrong because we haven't seen him train or move in the last however long it is so I think it's a very big decision for Gareth Southgate. The position England are in in terms of qualification obviously makes that decision easier in my mind because you can afford to take what is seen as a bit of a gamble in terms of someone's fitness to play in this game.

Czech Republic are a physical team and the centre forward Schick is on absolute fire at the moment. He likes to run in behind and is quite direct but Maguire has the physicality to cope with it, it's just that sharpness of movement, the quick feet, the one v one, its those little things at the top end you lose when you've been out so long.

  13. 'I am here and ready to play'published at 19:34 British Summer Time 22 June 2021

Czech Republic v England (20:00 BST)

    England

England defender Harry Maguire speaking to ITV: "It's amazing to be selected in the first place and to get the chance to play tonight and overcome the injury which has set me back for over six weeks. It's probably been the longest one I've had.

"I've had some tough moments but I am here and ready to play.

"There are always nerves especially when you play for England. Training can only take you so far but the games is where it matters. you get you're fitness in them and I feel I have done everything right to prepare myself for this game.

"Obviously against Scotland we wanted to win. We want to score goals and entertain the crowd and put big smiles on their faces. We have to play with a bit more intensity and tempo."

  14. 'Mings is in a great position'published at 19:32 British Summer Time 22 June 2021

Czech Republic v England (20:00 BST)

    Matt Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

The communication across this England team is outstanding. I'm sure the conversation would have happened but Tyrone Mings is sitting in a great position because he's played two matches without putting a foot wrong. He's come into this competition, he's laid a marker down which you want to do as a player. He wasn't an out and out starter in the team and he's grabbed the opportunity with both hands but he has to watch this one from the bench. It's up to Maguire to prove his fitness and then Gareth Southgate really does have a decision to make.

Mention Wembley to a Czech Republic fan and it brings to mind one of the greatest moments in the country's football history.

Twenty-five years ago this summer, the Czechs - at that stage only an independent nation for three years - came agonisingly close to winning the European Championship, a golden goal from Germany's Oliver Bierhoff eventually ending their chances.

Is a repeat of 1996 out of the question? And could they even match the feats of the famous Antonin Panenka-inspired Czechoslovakia team of 1976 and win the tournament?

There was a lot of doom and gloom after England's disappointing draw with Scotland but now the dust has settled hopefully everyone has realised there is no need to panic.

I've seen it suggested that we have to ditch our whole attack for Tuesday's game with the Czech Republic, which will decide who tops Group D at Euro 2020, but that is nonsense.

What we do need to do is increase our intensity, move the ball quicker and get it forward more. We also did not put enough balls into the box from our full-backs when we had the chance on Friday, particularly from the right.

England are looking to keep clean sheets in every group stage match at a major tournament for only the third time. The last time they did it was in the second group stage in 1982 (which was just two matches).

The only other time they've done it in the opening three-game group of a tournament?

Why that would be 1966. That ended well.
