  3. 'The last 10 minutes was very encouraging'published at 20:51 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    England 1-1 Denmark

    Micah Richards
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I've been really impressed with how England reacted to going down. Conceding the first goal at the Euros they reacted in a positive way and the last 10 minutes was very encouraging. They started like a house on fire and really pressed high then Denmark started controlling the game a little bit. But if they start like they did in the last 10 minutes of the first half we'll be fine.

  4. 'We went behind for the first time and we responded'published at 20:50 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    England 1-1 Denmark

    Karen Carney
Former England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

My biggest thought is the response. We went behind for the first time and we responded and we dominated. There are certain issues. That was the first time that we got a positive attack down the right and it was a really good attack.

We just have to be mindful of protecting Harry Maguire because they're trying to get down on him on that side. As bizarre as it sounds, our most rhythmic player was John Stones. He gets the ball down and starts the attack and they are really shutting him off and allowing Maguire to get on it and setting a trap.

    And breathe.

That was quite a half and England did well to get back on terms after a shaky spell.

Their shakiest in the tournament so far.

I must have seen about 18 pints being flung into the air. Get in lads! Come on England!!!!!!

    Si from Winterton

I think Sterling and Kane make a great duo!

England need to take the initiative now with that equalizer and sharpen up earlier mistakes. Chances will come. It's an open game.

Simon Kjaer's own goal was the 11th of the tournament. That is two more own goals than every single other Euros combined.

It was the first ever Danish OG at the Euros.

Now it's England looking the more dangerous, keeping the ball and sniffing an opening.

Well you talk about a response if England were to go behind, I tell you what, there it was right there. I think everyone said why does Harry Kane come to feet? Because he put that ball in for Saka to get behind, it was the two wingers then that combined. The whole pattern of play in attacking build-up was brilliant. What I loved the most was Kyle Walker and his celebration.

Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

He nearly scored a minute ago and this time he did it - where Denmark are struggling is when England get it down the sides with the two centre-halves on the outsides, they can't turn any bit of pace.

Saka slightly overruns it but it's a great ball across.

  16. goal

GOAL - England 1-1 Denmarkpublished at 39 mins

    Simon Kjaer (own goal)

    Leveller!

England restore parity and it is made by captain Harry Kane's slide-rule pass to pick out Bukayo Saka's run.

Denmark are caught out and the Arsenal man has time to look up and drills a low cross into the six-yard box which skipper Simon Kjaer diverts into his own net.

He could do nothing about that, Raheem Sterling was ready to pounce behind him.

Now we have a game on.

Magnificent save from a top class goalkeeper. What a save - great ball in. You've got to think that Raheem Sterling should've put that in the back of the net.

    How has he missed??

Harry Kane slips a pass through to Raheem Sterling, dead centre and around eight yards out, but the first-time shot is superbly palmed out by Kasper Schmeichel.

One pass from Joakim Maehle and the backline are sliced open but then Jens Stryger Larsen's cross has too much on it.
