Just a small reminder, in case you needed it, that England have only conceded once in this tournament, and that was from a free-kick. From open play, Gareth Southgate's side have been utterly rock solid.

I've been really impressed with our right-hand side because if you look at Italy's attack it's very right sides. Trippier and Walker are very comfortable and then they've got the pace and quality. We really are nullifying their attack and pushing them back. Mancini is fuming because tactically, we've outdone them so far.

This will be a big blow for Italy, he is the one that usually dictates the play for this Italian team. They will not want to lose him.

At the minute, the changes that Southgate has made, going back to a back three, it is the width that is hurting Italy at the moment.

England have width. And it is causing Italy issues. Kieran Trippier and Luke Shaw are, at times, sweeping the ball to each other.

It is four years since Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho said this about Luke Shaw:

"His performance was good. But it was his body and my brain. He was in front of me and I was making every decision for him, when to go inside, when to press the opponent. If he was on the other side, he wouldn't be the same and that is not possible at this level. He has to grow up. He has to mature. He has to understand the game better. He must accelerate the process because at 21 years of age, he is old enough to have a better understanding of the game."

One thing we know about this England team is they know how to control a game of football. They are doing just that now. Kane is fouled as Italy look to break. Cue the cheers.

Italy can't control it, England have nullified their attack and Mancini is going to his bench, but it is early I'll give him that.

Barella is fuming. When you play as a three in midfield, the worst job you have to do is going out to the wide area. You don't want to do it so you have to call your forwards back. So they will be calling Insigne and Chiesa to come back.

Italy are shaken. They're misplacing passes, dwelling on the ball, unsure, uncertain. England are in the ascendancy.

England manager Gareth Southgate's one change was to bring back Kieran Trippier for Bukayo Saka and it is paying rich dividends.

Trippier has made England's goal, set up another chance and Italy are struggling to cope with the pace on their left flank.

Italy need to get on the ball but they are not getting a chance in a feverish Wembley atmosphere.

Luke Shaw has had a cracking opening. He is found by Jordan Pickford with a neat kick and charges forward before sending a pass too far ahead of Raheem Sterling.

You see a lot of games where the crowd noise dulls down to a drone. The equivalent here is louder than most crowds at full tilt.
