Gomes is pulling the strings. He's a different player to Fernandes, he offers a different proposition at the base of the midfield, pulling the strings playing the ball out wide, orchestrating things. For someone who has had such a bad injury he's seamlessly come back into the team.
Everton 1-1 Man Utd
Anthony Martial has been quiet today. The Manchester United forward was not expected to play because of injury but was a surprise starter for the visitors. Here he has a go at goal, only to see his shot blocked.
Everton 1-1 Man Utd
Throw a brick at Harry Maguire and he'd head it away. The Manchester United skipper uses his noggin to head away a Gylfi Sigurdsson corner for another set-piece, the away side clear that one away towards the Everton end.

I refer Antony (see 15:06) to the match between Sheff U & Newcastle earlier in the season. Not a fan of either, can tell Antony that Sheff Utd 'deserved' to win 10-0. Newcastle actually won. Antony, we're saying, despite score, the losing team was miles better. Simples.

Carlo Ancelotti rolls the tactical dice for the second time today. Theo Walcott is the man hooked, with Bernard coming on with a brief of providing some magic.

The game is starting to open up now with the crowd, Carlo Ancelotti and Duncan Ferguson all roaring Everton on and frustrated by the attention of Victor Lindelof on Dominic Calvert-Lewin in equal measure.
Finely balanced now.

Bruno Fernandes looks a player. I know I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.
The Manchester United new boy jinks in from the right and sees his shot blocked by a sliding Everton player.
Tottenham 2-2 Wolves
Diogo Jota loves scoring in blocks doesn't he? The new Rod Wallace. That's six in three for the Wolves forward.

Spurs fans will be thanking you for that one, James...
After all that home pressure, Wolves go up the other end and clinically punish the hosts.
Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez combine to put Matt Doherty in behind on the right and his low cross across the face of goal is tapped in by Diogo Jota.

This is better by Tottenham - they're not letting Wovles settle, not letting them get out from the back. You've got to keep the press high up the pitch.
It's a difficult chance for Dele Alli. It's a great ball in. If they can get this next goal then it's a long way back for Wolves.
Everton 1-1 Man Utd
Gylfi Sigurdsson, playing in a deeper role these days, has not been scoring as many as Everton fans are used to. But he comes close by pinging the United post with a free-kick.
Richarlison pounces on the rebound but can't direct past David de Gea.
Tottenham 2-1 Wolves
Right on cue, Ben Davies delivers it. A beauty of an inswinging from deep on the left picks out Dele Alli who flicks header just wide of the far post. Head in hands for the Spurs attacker.
Tottenham 2-1 Wolves
Spurs have bounced straight on the front foot in this second half. Plenty of possession around the Wolves box, just lacking that killer final ball...

When Everton have been looking good they have gone forward quickly. It's not a long ball, it's just a direct pass into the front two and when they go away from that Manchester United are on them and that's what happened with their goal.
Tottenham 2-1 Wolves
Spurs' skipper for the day Harry Winks drives from midfield, looking to make things happen for the hosts.
But a woeful ball is too wide and too strong for those arriving in the box.

Tottenham 2-1 Wolves
A few Spurs fans aren't happy it seems. Personally thought a draw was a fairer reflection of the first half. Anyway...
Wolves have the first chance of the second half... a dangerous free-kick from the right met by the unmarked Diogo Jota, who flicks a header just over the bar.

Re: 14.49 - never understood this 'deserve' concept. If you score more goals than the opposition you 'deserve' to win. How do the other side 'deserve' to win if they can't score more goals and are not good enough to keep you out?
