    Hull 0-1 Chelsea

Ex-England manager on BBC Radio 5 live

But for George Long it would be three or four. Every time Chelsea go forward they look like scoring, don't they? Hull will just be praying they can go in 1-0 down at half-time so they can make changes and sort this out.

  2. 'We big-time deserved it'published at 18:11 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

West Brom boss Slaven Bilic, speaking to Match of the Day: "We big-time deserved it, and it is a great win for us – brilliant.

"It was a great performance by us – it was a complete one. I wanted us to be positive and, well, I told them at half-time that the only thing I wasn’t happy about was the score and we were leading 1-0.

"So that sums it up for the first half, we were so brave and we had so many good combinations and so many times we got the ball off them – it was a shame it was only 1-0.

"Second half it was more or less the same – okay they pressed for an equaliser but we defended as a group, quite high, and were excellent.

"Then the red card came and it changed it but only in how it gave them more possession and made it much easier to get down the flanks or to the edge of our box.

"We had to let them have a strike or a cross, but it was very important that we defended our box. It felt like a long time and we had to defend well.

"You have to rely on some of their crosses not being top crosses but they are going to have one chance, and they had it at the end through Mark Noble, but we also had opportunities on the counter."

    Hull 0-1 Chelsea

Patient play from Chelsea and then Cesar Azpilicueta finds a great ball down the line to find Ross Barkley. He threads it into the middle looking for Michy Batshuayi but again good goalkeeping form George Long secures that front post.

    Five minutes until half time.

Alan Ferguson: Chelsea playing with an invisible centre forward. Mount just skinned the left back. Cross perfect. Absolutely no one there.

Do I even need to say how nice it is to watch a game where you know you can celebrate goals straight away rather than wait for a tv replay to confirm them?

  5. So many chancespublished at 18:07 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Burnley 1-2 Norwich

Norwich could have had a hatful in this one - in the end they were hanging on a touch.

    Hull 0-1 Chelsea

The first time we've really seen Jarrod Bowen in space and he chops inside Mateo Kovacic with a swerve so sweet it hurts the Chelsea man, who is holding his hip.

Bowen shoots from a mile out, it's charged down, but the ball comes back in and Bowen is able to swivel and shoot straight at Willy Caballero. Didn't get hold of it.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 18:04 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Hull 0-1 Chelsea

Really good goalkeeping! But it should be 2-0 to Chelsea.

Mason Mount is in on goal after a slick bit of play down the Chelsea left, he has a man inside - Michy Batshuayi I think? - but decides to shoot, trying to chip George Long but he makes another very good one-on-one stop.

  9. 'Chelsea are enjoying themselves'published at 18:03 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Hull 0-1 Chelsea

    Steve McClaren
Ex-England manager on BBC Radio 5 live

They're just enjoying themselves aren't they? Toying with Hull, without actually scoring. Controlling the game, playing in Hull's half - Hull can't transition, Tom Eaves isn't holding the ball up and Chelsea are absolutely killing Hull in the wide areas, getting so many crosses in.

It must be enjoyable to play in and it's certainly enjoyable to watch.

    Hull 0-1 Chelsea

A bit flat at the KC, where the home side could do with something to add a bit of inspiration. Hull haven't played badly so far but Willy Caballero hasn't had to make a save.

  11. Postpublished at 18:01 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

A replay for the Premier League sides.

  12. 'Lampard perfect for management'published at 17:58 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Hull 0-1 Chelsea

    Steve McClaren
Ex-England manager on BBC Radio 5 live

Frank Lampard is very articulate, very intelligent, just a football man. The way he worked at his game, his work ethic, he's perfect to be a manager and he's got the intelligence. He's got a great philosophy as well - he's worked on that and worked under top, top coaches but he's his own man. He's very honest but he believes in attractive football, playing football the right way.

  13. Postpublished at 17:58 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Hull 0-1 Chelsea

A 16-year-old going to Manchester United at the moment would be...interesting. Not exactly settled is it.

Chelsea win a corner, they're looking good out there on the ball. Will they finally have a clinical day in front of goal or will Frank Lampard once again be moaning about missed chances come full time? Ross Barkley drags a shot wide.

  14. 'Strange feeling'published at 17:56 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Coventry City 0-0 Birmingham City

Birmingham City boss Pep Clotet: "We knew Coventry would play very well. Tactically we were very good but we lacked sharpness in the final third. It became a very tactical game. Now we have a replay and another chance. It was a strange feeling being in the away dressing room and we warmed up on the pitch in a different area."

On speculation about Jude Bellingham, who has been linked with Manchester United: "Jude is a fantastic player for us. There are no updates. He is our player and is only focused on doing the best for Birmingham. He is coping with the attention very well. He is very mature."

  16. Postpublished at 17:54 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Hull 0-1 Chelsea

Mallik Wilks looks a real danger down the Hull left but when he looks for Tom Eaves the big man runs out of legs. Chelsea seeing two-thirds of possession now, the men in white moving slickly.

  17. 'Chelsea can pull you to pieces'published at 17:53 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Hull 0-1 Chelsea

    Steve McClaren
Ex-England manager on BBC Radio 5 live

Every time they go forward, Chelsea, you look at the quality - any one of them, in any moment, can pull you to pieces and that's what you're frightened of. You're just hoping they slip up and don't score.

  18. Postpublished at 17:52 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Hull 0-1 Chelsea

Mallik Wilks has an ocean of space out on the left but even with a margin of error of about 30 yards Reece Burke overhits his diagonal pass. Shame.

  19. How Chelsea went aheadpublished at 17:49 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Hull 0-1 Chelsea

A great ball, great run, a slice of luck or two.

  20. 'Hull have got to defend better'published at 17:47 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2020

    Hull 0-1 Chelsea

    Steve McClaren
Ex-England manager on BBC Radio 5 live

Every cross that's gone into the Hull box, they've not cleared the ball. They've got to defend better. They're vulnerable at the back and they've got to tighten up. If they concede another goal it's almost impossible to come back from that.
