    Tranmere 0-3 Man Utd

Diogo Dalot gets too close to Corey Blackett-Taylor and he just spins and beats him on the left.

Blackett-Taylor whips the ball across the face of the goal but there's nobody there to get a touch on it. Very dangerous!

Rob M: It looks like Man Utd have finally found their level.

Kassim Patel: Great seeing Man United 3-0 up as it means Ole gets given an extra 6 months in the job.

Corin Wright: The Tranmere fans are speechless... Lingard has scored against them.

Andy: United will be signing Tranmere's groundsman after this match.

Josh Earl: Maguire, Dalot, Lingard.. not the first 3 goalscorers you'd have picked out!! Phil Jones next goalscorer..

The amazing thing about this is the identity of the Manchester United goalscorers.

Harry Maguire and Diogo Dalot had not scored at all this season. Jesse Lingard's only goal came away to Astana in a Europa League tie.

    Nobody expected this start.

Please can we play on this type of pitch every week?

I had to read that twice..it was Maguire (OG) and meant for the other side surely?? ... fair play lad

Morgan Ferrier looks a threat when he gets on the ball up front for Tranmere. He beats Phil Jones at the near post but it's one too many to get past Sergio Romero from that angle.

Anthony Martial turns inside the area but lashes at his shot and it sails over the bar. Relief for Tranmere!

Again that is all about Harry Maguire - picking the ball up in the centre-back position and then driving powerfully towards goal before slipping in Lingard, who just bends it into the far corner.

Jesse Lingard gets away from David Perkins but won't beat Connor Jennings. He plays it long down the right and Harry Maguire slides in, missing the ball.

Morgan Ferrier is given a run at Phil Jones but takes the shot early, skewing it way wide of the left post.

All the fears expressed about Manchester United prior to this game have disappeared.

Tranmere were 3-0 down at Watford in the last round and still got through but I don't see that happening here.

The Manchester United fans are enjoying themselves and have sung plenty of Solskjaer songs so far.

It was all Tranmere for the first eight or nine minutes. Then suddenly Harry Maguire turned into Dennis Bergkamp.

It's turned the game on its head.

    Jesse Lingard

Harry Maguire is basically playing as a striker now. He drives forward, slips it right to Jesse Lingard, who is given acres of space.

He picks his spot and curls it into the right corner. Is this game over already?!

That's the class - you can be under the kosh for the first 10 minutes or so and you get two chances and are just clinical. That's a great little bit of play from Dalot down the side, beats his man and cuts in then just smashes it with his right foot into the bottom corner.

  16. 'It was not full, I don't know why'published at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2020

    FT: Man City 4-0 Fulham

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been speaking to BBC Sport and it sounds as though he is not particularly impressed with the attendance at today's game.

The official crowd at the Etihad was announced as 39,223.

"It was not full. I don't know why," said Guardiola.

Speaking about Wedesday's Carabao Cup semi-final second leg with Manchester United, Guardiola added: "It gives a chance to go back to Wembley. Hopefully they will support us more."

On the Fulham win: "The game changed after the sending off. After a few minutes I thought it would be a tough game. Sometimes when it is 10 v 11 your mind is not in a perfect condition to keep going."

    What is happening.

Anthony Martial links up with Diogo Dalot and he weaves into the box, cuts inside of Liam Ridehalgh and fires it into the far corner.

Another good goal! Man United are in front by two after just 13 minutes!

Wow, what a strike that was. He just picks the ball up and everyone just thinks 'leave him, it's Maguire'. Then he just kicks it top bin. There is nothing any keeper in the world could do about that, that's an unbelievable strike. He puts the hand on the Manchester United badge and says 'that's for you' to the fans.

    Harry Maguire

Wait, what? Harry Maguire has just scored a SCREAMER.

That's centre-back Harry Maguire. It's his first goal for Man United too! He absolutely smacks it, catching it sweetly from about 20 yards and it flies into the top right corner.

It took a deflection but it was still a brilliant strike. Don't think the keeper was ever getting there.
