Shane O'Neill: It gets worse at Utd by the day. Not prepared to pay the money for Fernandes. Everyone else rejects us. OGS is deluded when he calls us the biggest and greatest club in the world. Not anymore. We’re becoming a laughing stock.

Sonsofpunjab: With respect to Tranmere, hard to believe pitches like this still exist, I have seen better pitches in my local park...

Phil Foden grabbed the ball for that free-kick, but if I was Gabriel Jesus I would have been asking for a go.

Phil Foden slips but does well to jump back up onto his feet and wriggle around Stefan Johansen.

It's another free-kick in a decent area on the edge of the box. Will Foden take it?

Manchester United's goalkeeping coach Richard Hartis has been sending over some crosses from the worst-looking area of the Prenton Park pitch, which is by the touchline on the dug-out side, near to the end where the visiting fans will be.

There are footprints appearing where the players have been warming up.

In fairness, I have seen worse surfaces at United pre-season games.

It was inevitable as the game wore on that Fulham were going to get tired and they were going to give balls away against this City side. It was a simple finish on a plate but I do like Gabriel Jesus - great attributes and such a young man as well. He will be desperately trying to get a hat-trick now.
