Josh Onomah is getting treatment now too. It looked like he got a knock on his head in the build-up.

You can see Joao Cancelo pick his man out for the third goal. It's a really nice ball, delicately put in and a good head. Keeper had no chance.

    Gabriel Jesus

Oh dear. Two goals in a few minutes.

Michael Hector gives it straight to Gabriel Jesus, who is pressing high up the pitch and when a shot rebounds off the keeper, it lands back at the Brazilian's feet.

He just smacks it into the open goal from about two yards out.

It still took too long. We could see here that there was nothing in it.

The goal stands. The 'armpit' lines were coming out again but all good!

  8. goal

    Gabriel Jesus

    There we go!

It's good play from Raheem Sterling, who wins the ball back in the Fulham box. He plays it back to Joao Cancelo, who swings it into Gabriel Jesus.

He nods it in. But was he offside? VAR are checking...

    Man City 2-0 Fulham

(You can see from recent entries that this game is dragging on)

As I write that, Joao Cancelo fails to reach a ball down the right and it rolls out for a Fulham goal kick.

The TV feed has just panned to a little girl in the home stand. She's holding up two Man City rubber ducks.

Since when did they start selling rubber ducks as merchandise?

I'm a little surprised no Premier League club took a gamble on Tom Cairney, really. He's a terrific player - a good technician, scores goals, a good passer, makes chances for others. Really is a good technician, somebody I like watching and somebody the fans like watching down at the Cottage.

There's around 20 minutes to go. If it stays like this and you were Scott Parker, would you tell keeper Marek Rodak to play up front for the final five minutes?

2-0 down, nothing to lose. Why not?! It would also make it much more entertaining for us.

Chris Lord: A bemusing line-up for United! 5 at the back at Tranmere. Ole’s drunk at the wheel. 6 defensive-minded players on the pitch...

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 68 mins

    Man City 2-0 Fulham

Angelino's cross ends up almost going in! It skims just over the bar.

Fulham then make their first change as Ivan Cavaleiro is replaced by Tom Cairney.

  15. Postpublished at 66 mins

    Man City 2-0 Fulham

Raheem Sterling feeds it through to Joao Cancelo in the box and he goes over under contact from Joe Bryan.

City's players appeal for a penalty but there's nothing in it. A quick check from VAR... Nope.

The resulting corner is then headed wide by Nicolas Otamendi.

Ben Comer-Rigg: The Man United line-up is disgraceful. Gomes will leave in the summer because of lack of game time but he's better than Lingard. Frustrating when he's not even in the squad too but somehow Andreas and Lingard keep getting in.

David Silva is head and shoulders above everybody else on this pitch. He tip-toes past another two defenders before he's stopped on the edge of the box.

Even though the game isn't a contest, it's still a joy to watch him.

Terence Kongolo lunges in, last ditch, but very clean. Good long leg and quick recovery. Very good.

Ilkay Gundogan gives away a foul in his own half so Fulham have a chance to swing one in. They try to play it short but the runner is tracked.

Instead, it's hooked loosely into the box and runs straight through to Claudio Bravo.

    What a waste!!

It was a great ball into his path and Raheem Sterling was unlucky. David Silva has shown us the moments of brilliance today so far. He is always aware of where his team-mates and opponents are on the pitch so he is always turning into space.
