    QPR 1-0 Leeds

Leeds playmaker Pablo Hernandez is in the wars - QPR are being firm but fair with him, preventing the Spaniard from running the game.

Hernandez only returned from injury today so Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping he's back at 100% to get his side back into this...

The assistant referee has the sun in his eyes and players blocking his view - he couldn't have been expected to spot that Nahki Wells handball.

    VAR in the Championship, anyone?

    Nahki Wells

A typical poacher's goal from Nahki Wells, but should it have been given?

Luke Ayling gets his head to an Eberechi Eze free-kick and it falls to Wells, who controls the ball with his arm before firing in.

VAR would've ruled that out in the Premier League but as it is QPR have an early lead.

  4. CLOSE!published at 12:51 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    QPR 0-0 Leeds

QPR defender Conor Masterson almost scores a freakish own goal on his first league start!

He inadvertantly gets a knee to a wicked Pablo Hernandez delivery and Liam Kelly - in for the injured Joe Lumley - has to tip the ball over his bar.

  5. Postpublished at 18 mins

    QPR 0-0 Leeds

Todd Kane leaves a foot in on Leeds winger Jack Harrison and from the resulting free-kick Luke Ayling almost finds Patrick Bamford in the box, but for a block.

A bit better from the visitors.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 15 mins

    QPR 0-0 Leeds

A slick move from QPR ends with Nahki Wells laying off the ball for Luke Amos, whose low strike is tipped wide by Leeds keeper Kiko Casilla.

The Spaniard would expect to save that, but a decent stop nonetheless.

The QPR corner comes to nothing, but they're on top here.

QPR's Bright Osayi-Samuel fancies his chances against Leeds' makeshift left-back Stuart Dallas.

He cuts inside and tees up Nahki Wells, who fluffs his lines inside the box.

A half chance at most for the hosts.

    QPR 0-0 Leeds

Both teams are young, vibrant and full of energy, meaning no player is being given any time on the ball.

Helder Costa goes on a mazy run into the QPR final third but is stopped in his tracks.

Some light sparring between the sides, with Leeds managing to keep Eberechi Eze and Ilias Chair in check for now.

But the visitors aren't keeping the ball very well, inviting QPR attacks.

Leeds do win the ball back but Patrick Bamford shoots from halfway, with Rangers keeper Liam Kelly off his line, but misses by a fair way.

  10. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 5 mins

    QPR 0-0 Leeds

At the other end Lee Wallace makes a clumsy challenge in the box on Leeds forward Helder Costa.

There are some calls for a penalty from the visitors but the ref isn't interested.

It would've been harsh but a player of Wallace's experience should know better...

    QPR 0-0 Leeds

Bright Osayi-Samuel is bang in-form and full of beans.

The QPR winger forces an error from Leeds in their own half and begins to gallop clear before being stopped by a last-ditch Ben White challenge.

Then Eberechi Eze gets to the byline and has a low cross blocked - a good start from the hosts.

The sun is shining on a fresh Saturday lunchtime in West London as the players emerge from the tunnel in their jackets, which they'll take off in a matter of seconds anyway.

Neither team in amazing form but both capable of scintillating attacking football.

It's time for QPR v Leeds, ladies and gentlemen...

  15. Can Clarke upset old club?published at 12:22 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Jack ClarkeImage source, Rex Features

Teenage winger Jack Clarke had a breakthrough year with Leeds last season, earning a £10m move to Spurs which included returning to Elland Road on loan this term.

But that spell was cut short this month after only one substitute Championship appearance this season, with Clarke joining QPR on loan on Thursday.

Clarke, 19, is among the Rangers substitutes this afternoon - will he come on and sting his old side?

Despite fighting towards the top end of the Championship in recent seasons Leeds have a dreadful record in the capital, winning just one of their past 18 away league games in London.

Their past five matches in the old smoke have ended in defeat, most recently a 2-1 reverse at Fulham last month.

QPR beat Marcelo Bielsa's side twice at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium last season so Leeds know they're in for a game.

QPR have won only one of their past six Championship games but that was a 6-1 mauling of Cardiff.

In fact, Mark Warburton's side put five past Swansea in the FA Cup third round last week, meaning they are looking to score 5+ for a third consecutive home game for the first time since 1930.

Bright Osayi-Samuel has been their key man, being directly involved in seven goals in his last eight appearances in all competitions (4 goals, 3 assists).

Mark Warburton's QPR make three changes, with Irish defender Conor Masterson making his first start for the club, while winger Jack Clarke could make his debut off the bench against his old club.

Leeds welcome back talisman Pablo Hernandez from injury, replacing the sidelined Barry Douglas. The change means Staurt Dallas is expected to start at left-back.

QPR: Kelly, Kane, Hall, Masterson, Wallace, Cameron, Amos, Samuel, Chair, Eze, Wells

Subs: Pugh, Scowen, Ball, Manning, Barnes, Leistner, Clarke

Leeds: Casilla, Ayling, White, Cooper, Dallas, Phillips, Helder Costa, Hernandez, Klich, Harrison, Bamford

Leeds are second despite just one league win in their past six, but their buffer over the chasing pack was cut to just four points after Fulham's win over Middlesbrough last night.

Marcelo Bielsa's side will go top - until Monday at least - if they win at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

QPR, meanwhile, start the afternoon in 15th, but closer to the play-offs than the bottom three.
