England need someone to put their foot on the ball - the defence is treating it like a hot potato and it is causing panic at the back.

Lauren Hemp needlessly gives away a free kick 30 yards from goal and there's a sustained spell of pressure as England struggle to clear following the delivery into the box.

Another corner for the USA as Abby Dahlkemper's shot deflects behind but the delivery to the edge of the box is poor and England clear.

Carly Telford plucks the ball out of the air as Julie Ertz flicks a header goalwards from a USA corner. Openings are starting to appear but England will be pretty happy with these first 10 minutes.

Lovely ball by Christen Press splits the England defence and suddenly Carli Lloyd is in. Good work from Carly Telford in the England goal, though, as she closes down the angle and Lloyd's shot deflects wide.

Lots of possession from the USA in these early stages - England have barely had a touch of the ball yet. This could be a tough opening for Phil Neville's side.

The players didn't shake hands and only bumped their arms together to avoid any unnecessary contact in the midst of the spread of coronavirus.

No shaking hands based on advice around Coronavirus so it is touching elbows instead.

Not quite sure not shaking hands in a contact sport will have much effect, but what do I know.

National anthems time now. We've just had England's and now it is the USA's, which has just gone acapella and signed off to the crackle of fireworks.

Things don't tend to start on time when it comes to America. They like to have a party beforehand and the fireworks have been brought out onto the pitch... Wait for the roar when the world champions walk out. There's already drums being banged to my left.
