Ben Haines picks Sheffield United's Sander Berge.

But Simon Stone goes for an out-going player - Christian Eriksen.

"I would love to see him get back to the player he was when Tottenham Hotspur were battling for the title," he said. "He has disappeared from view over the last 12 months."

  11. 'Utd can't go the rest of the season without a replacement for Rashford'published at 21:44 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2020

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

United do feel like they are winners. The situation is Manchester United would argue they have long-term targets and have consistently said that they will only try and sign long-term targets in January.

They believe, in Bruno Fernandes, that is exactly what they have done. They would argue he has been a target for a while and is the kind of player they need that fits into the long-term vision.

They understand Ighalo doesn't fit into the vision and that wasn't part of the plan, however, they feel as though they are reacting to a short-term situation which is Marcus Rashfod - their leading goalscorer and number one striker - getting injured.

They can't go the rest of the season without bringing in a replacement.

Regarding the Cavani to United debate. The last time United took an ageing striker from PSG he scored 28 goals in a season, and Rashford I'm sure learned from training and playing alongside him!

    Jeff, Birmingham

If United do sign Ighalo, how on earth do they get him out of China, plus if they do, won't he have to be quarantined for two weeks?

    Logan, Co Antrim

So, referencing Ighalo to Manchester United. I'm guessing he won't be available for tomorrow's game.

    Chris, Lancashire

  18. 'Rose is a fabulous signing'published at 21:26 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2020

    Micah Richards
Former Aston Villa defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I am a little bit disappointed with the way things have happened with Danny Rose.

I know he did various interviews talking about how teams didn't want him because he was going through a mental battle.

When Danny Rose and Kyle Walker were both at Spurs I saw them as being on a similar level.

Walker goes to Man City and wins titles and I thought Rose was in that calibre of player.

He has gone a little but stale. He has fallen out with the manager and the owner at Spurs.

For Newcastle to be getting a player that is hungry and ready to prove how much of a good player he is, I think it is a fabulous signing.

  20. Dream movepublished at 21:22 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2020

    John Bennett
    BBC World Service

Talk about a dream move for Odion Ighalo. When he played for Watford his family was based in Manchester. I first met him when he came to the BBC studios in Salford for an interview just after Watford’s promotion and he told me that he was a Manchester United fan when he was a kid (check out the photo). He must’ve thought his time in the Premier League was over but maybe a childhood dream is about to come true.
