Wolves have signed exciting youngster Luke Matheson from League One side Rochdale.

The 17-year-old completed his medical and agreed terms in Wolverhampton on Friday, and will now spend the remainder of the season back on loan at Rochdale.

Matheson is a product of the League One club’s academy system and has enjoyed a rapid rise to the first-team over the past 12 months.

As a 15-year-old, Matheson became Rochdale’s youngest ever player when making his debut against Bury and this season has established himself as a regular at Spotland.

The England under-18 international has played 24 times for Dale in all competitions and stole the headlines when scoring against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup in September.

Borussia Dortmund have a clause in Emre Can's loan switch from Italian champions Juventus to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

"In Emre Can we get a German national player who can be used across multiple systems in defence as well as in central midfield," said Dortmund sports director Michael Zorc.

"A player who, as well as his technique, has a strong will to win."

Dortmund are fourth in the German Bundesliga, four points behind leaders RB Leipzig.

Can, 26, who started his career at Bayern Munich and was at Liverpool from 2014-18, added: "I think the team has great potential and can win something. I am convinced that I can help them and can't wait to play in front of these fans for whom Borussia Dortmund is known all over the world for the first time."

    Ben, TotalSaintsPodcast:

“Ok, so it seems there is more action at Saints after all - with Sampdoria making a late move to sign Maya Yoshida on loan.

"Yoshida has been an unbelievable character in and around St. Mary’s - both on and off the pitch. His consistent Centre Back performances, incredible support of the Saints Foundation and general personality have maintained his status as a real fans favourite.

"It is with great sadness that we say goodbye, ahead of him becoming a free agent at the end of the season. A true Saint!”

PSG will not be selling striker Edinson Cavani. The French champions had initially not planned to sell the Uruguay international during January and, after entering into negotiations, received no offers from any club which met their requirements.

In his press conference today, PSG coach Thomas Tuchel said in answer to a question on Edinson being OK psychologically after the last fortnight: “There are worse situations than staying at PSG. He’s feeling good and needs to gain confidence and find his rhythm. Edinson is a huge player at the club.”

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

Have Tottenham done enough this window? #bbcdeadlineday, external - @CoreyD_THFC, external

It's interesting with Tottenham because they tried to reshape their squad a little bit.

They obviously let Christian Eriksen go which was something that really they had to do because he wanted out.

They brought Gedson Fernandes in, a player a lot of clubs were looking at, but they've not managed to get this striker they wanted.

They wanted Olivier Giroud, Giroud wanted to leave Chelsea, but that could only happen if Chelsea got the striker they wanted.

It looks as though Giroud is going to stay at Chelsea, which means Tottenham have a bit of a problem because Harry Kane has this serious injury which may stop him playing for the remainder of the season.

Obviously they have good players in Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura but whether they can play as a centre forward week after week will determine whether this turns out to be a good window for Tottenham.
