David Taylor: Taking Almiron off was a disaster. He was pushing Oxford back with his pace, and as soon as he came off, they piled forward. Now extra time with barely any strike force. Crazy decision.

Credit needs to be given to Miguel Almiron as well. Ran like a trooper and created some brilliant chances.

Cardiff should have just wrapped up the win there.

Josh Murphy, man of the match by some distance, dashes down the left wing and puts in a low cross Reading can only half-clear.

The ball bounces kindly for Will Vaulks, but the home side's midfielder blazes his shot over.

  15. 'Rough for Shrewsbury'published at 22:05 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2020

    FT: Liverpool 1-0 Shrewsbury

    Rob Green
Former West Ham and England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

In the end, the quality of possession and the quality of the play from Liverpool's youngsters was there. Shrewsbury will say, the opportunities, they kept them to a minimum. The goal that got disallowed, that was their opportunity. It's a rough one of Shrewsbury and it's a cruel, cruel game because they got out-played at times and the mistake they made. It wasn't the best bit of play from Liverpool but if you look at these youngsters celebrating this win, it's like they have won the cup themselves. They are still out there now celebrating.
