Championship leaders West Brom are on the crest of a wave at the minute, on the back of a record which has seen them win four of their past five games and draw the other.

Tonight they face off against a Preston side who are in a decent bit of form themselves.

North End have lost just once in their past eight Championship games and are unbeaten in their past six away games.

    Game on!

Cardiff City's on-loan Wolves defender Dion Sanderson makes the first league appearance of his senior career tonight, which will make this a proud night for his family.

Among them will be Dion's aunt Tessa, who knows a thing or two about top-level sport.

Former javelin thrower Tessa Sanderson won Olympic gold in 1984 and competed for Great Britain at no fewer than six Olympics.

So the question is, has right-back Dion got a long throw?

    QPR v Derby (19:45 GMT)

It's fair to say Derby's record on the road in the Championship this season is less than stellar.

Only Luton and Barnsley have picked up fewer points on their travels this term than Derby County's total of 11.

And both the Hatters and Tykes are in the relegation places. Can Derby make it 14 points with victory at QPR tonight?

  7. Jones' Luton seek revengepublished at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2020

    Luton v Brentford (19:45 GMT)

Tonight's the night Luton can right some wrongs from when they met Brentford at Griffin Park earlier this season.

They were on the receiving end of a 7-0 drubbing and slipped to their worst English Football League defeat since losing 8-1 to Lincoln in 1966.

Fast forward to today and Luton's fortunes aren't looking great as they prop up the Championship table while Brentford are in amongst it in the play-off places.

  8. Huddersfield look to pull awaypublished at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2020

Huddersfield v Bristol City (19:45 GMT)

Huddersfield have inched closer to the Championship drop zone of late and their fortunes have not been helped by Wigan's win against Millwall on Saturday.

Only Hull and Luton - with six defeats - have lost more than Huddersfield's five losses since the turn of the year.

They welcome a Bristol City side who have lost three of their past four league games.

Is tonight the night the Terriers pull away from the relegation places for good?

  9. Forest's unenviable record in Walespublished at 19:32 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2020

Nottingham Forest, having been on a run which saw them beat second-placed Leeds earlier in 2020, are currently on a three-game streak without a win.

Tonight they travel to South Wales to face Cardiff City, but Forest's record in the principality isn't the greatest.

They have lost seven of their past 10 trips to Wales in all competitions however they did beat Swansea away in September.

On the flip side, victory tonight would be their first set of back-to-back wins in Wales since 2010.

Just the two games in League Two but Northampton's trip to Cheltenham is not to be underestimated in the promotion race.

The fifth-placed Robins are two points and two places above the Cobblers and will move to within three points of an automatic promotion spot with victory at Whaddon Road.

Elsewhere, Grimsby host Newport in the very definition of a mid-table affair.

A Championship ground seems a suitable place for second-placed Coventry to host League One leaders Rotherham, with both sides chasing promotion to the second-tier.

The Millers are ahead of the Sky Blues on goal difference, having played a game more.

If Coventry are beaten it opens the door for Sunderland to sneak into an automatic promotion spot, providing they get past in-form Fleetwood - managed by none other than former Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton!

Having fallen back below Barnsley at the weekend, Luton have the chance to move off the bottom of the table as they host high-flying Brentford.

Huddersfield are one of several big-name sides looking over their shoulders following recent good form from the bottom three - the Terriers welcome Bristol City to the John Smith's Stadium as they hope to give themselves more breathing space.

With Leeds not playing until Wednesday, West Brom will extend their lead at the top to seven points with victory over sixth-placed Preston - who are one of three sides who could overtake third-placed Fulham tonight.

Slaven Bilic's Baggies could conceivably end the night as many as 12 points clear of third place as they look to seal a return to the Premier League.
