So, Boro move a point closer to the sides above them but stay 22nd, inside the drop zone.

They were just minutes away from moving as high as 19th. It wasn't to be for them tonight.

    Ten games remain...

On his late goal, Lewis Grabban tells Sky Sports:

"I just tried to challenge against the goalkeeper and get some kind of finish on it. The referee was happy with it.

"[Overall] we're disappointed. It's still a point but we'll have to look at ourselves."

    FT: Middlesbrough 2-2 Nottingham Forest

Forest make it four games unbeaten but a draw clearly isn't what they wanted tonight. They miss the chance to go within six points of an automatic promotion spot.

Instead, the gap between them and Leeds is eight points and they're just six points above seventh-placed Bristol City.

  7. Reaction: 'Not good enough', says Worrallpublished at 21:44 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2020

    FT: Middlesbrough 2-2 Nottingham Forest

Forest's Joe Worrall tells Sky Sports:

"We were rubbish in the first half. We were pants, the lot of us.

"It's not good enough from us. We should be winning that game."

  8. FULL-TIMEpublished at 90+5 mins

    Middlesbrough 2-2 Nottingham Forest

That's it. Boro's wait for a first win since New Year's Day continues, as Forest strike late to level.

Jonathan Woodgate looks very, very frustrated as the whistle goes. His side stay in the relegation zone.

    Forest stay fourth.

Now Boro go in search of a late winner of their own... But Paddy McNair completely over-hits his cross. That might be that.

Forest's Adama Diakhaby has an even better chance, inside the area this time, but mis-kicks the ball completely.

Lewis Grabban's 17th goal of the season is going to move Forest to within eight points of second spot if it stays like this.

  12. CLOSE!published at 90+1 mins

    Middlesbrough 2-2 Nottingham Forest

Forest break quickly and some more sloppy Boro defending presents Adama Diakhaby with a chance, in space outside the box, but he can't find the target.

And now Forest look the more likely to pinch a win...

  14. goal

GOAL: Middlesbrough 2-2 Nottingham Forestpublished at 86 mins

    Lewis Grabban

A late leveller for Forest! Boro might end the night in the relegation zone after all.

Joao Carvalho's corner finds Joe Lolley on the edge of the box. Lolley slightly mis-hits his bouncing shot and it finds Lewis Grabban, with his back to goal, four yards out, holding off Boro keeper Aynsley Pears... And Grabban brilliantly flicks it into the net!

Pears will be really disappointed when he sees that back again. He needs to be stronger there I think.

Boro are complaining but I don't think there's any foul there... It's just poor defending all round, all around the box, from several Boro players.

Forest have been building pressure for the past 10 minutes or more. Well, ever since Joao Carvalho came on, to be more blunt about it.

Forest's third and final change sees their first-half goalscorer Ryan Yates replaced by John Bostock.

The visitors are set to stay nine points adrift of second-placed Leeds, unless they can hit back late on here.

  19. CLOSE!published at 77 mins

    Middlesbrough 2-1 Nottingham Forest

Lewis Grabban darts past his man at the near post to meet Matty Cash's low cross from the right, but Grabban pokes wide! Big chance.

  20. CLOSE!published at 74 mins

    Middlesbrough 2-1 Nottingham Forest

And then, from the subsequent Forest corner, Tobias Figueiredo wins the header at the near post and it's deflected narrowly over the bar.

That could have gone anywhere! I think it hit Jonny Howson's arm on its way through as well. Nothing given.

A second lucky escape for the hosts in a matter of moments.
