Chelsea and England defender Millie Bright told BBC Sport:

"Yes, we've beaten them in the past and have had great performances, but this is a final. It's a cup game. It's anyone's to take.

"It's two top teams going head-to-head. It's about who executes their gameplan and who is best prepared on the day.

"It's another trophy to put in the cabinet. We value it massively as players. You get remembered by these things and these competitions. Trophies matter."

It is a view that hundreds of thousands of fans will take in every season when they head to Nottingham Forest’s City Ground! Neat riverside location, ain’t it...

But what sort of crowd will mosey on over Trent Bridge to watch today’s Women’s Continental League Cup final? It is a final that has only once drawn a crowd of more than 5,000 and last year fewer than 2,500 watched Manchester City overcome Arsenal on penalties at Bramall Lane.

It is undoubtedly a big occasion (this is a major piece of silverware after all), but there is little to no fanfare advertising the match around the City Ground... are we again looking at a relatively small attendance?

  3. Chelsea team newspublished at 17:19 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

    Chelsea v Arsenal (17:30 GMT)

There are no such major injury worries for the Blues, with manager Emma Hayes saying earlier this week that she had a full bill of health.

England star Fran Kirby, who suffered with a bad virus earlier this winter, is not in the squad as she continues working back towards full fitness, but she has travelled here with her team-mates.

Australia's Sam Kerr starts up front alongside the in-form Beth England. Both team's forward lines are packed with world-class pedigree.

Chelsea XI: Berger, Bright, Ingle, England, Ji, Reiten, Eriksson, Mjelde, Kerr, Cuthbert, Andersson.

Subs: Telford, Thorisdottir, Blundell, Carter, Cooper, Spence, Bachmann.

  4. Arsenal team newspublished at 17:17 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

    Chelsea v Arsenal (17:30 GMT)

Arsenal's injury list means they have only been able to name five subs rather than the maximum-allowed seven, and there are only 13 senior players in their squad today.

The Gunners are without Scotland's Kim Little, England's Beth Mead and Switzerland's Lia Walti, as well as long-term absentees including Danielle Carter.

Australia's Caitlin Foord starts up front alongside Vivianne Miedema as Foord makes only her second appearance for the club since her January-window arrival. She scored on her debut last time out.

Arsenal XI: Zinsberger, Evans, Quinn, Schnaderbeck, McCabe, Williamson, Roord, Van de Donk, Nobbs, Miedema, Foord.

Subs: Peyraud-Magnin, Maier, Filis, Grant, Mace.

Good afternoon. The first major piece of silverware of the English football season is up for grabs and London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea are going head-to-head at the City Ground to decide who takes it home to the capital.

Kick-off here alongside the River Trent is coming up at 17:30 GMT.
