  1. 'Never any doubt Sharp would score'published at 22:13 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    Reading 1-2 Sheffield United

    Keith Edwards
Ex-Sheffield United striker on BBC Radio Sheffield

That's the first quality ball Sheffield United have got into the box for a while.

If you wait, Billy Sharp always gets into the right position in the box. There was never any doubt he would score from that position.

  2. CLOSE!published at 22:13 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    Reading 1-2 Sheffield United

Straight from the resumption Billy Sharp fizzes a shot just over the top. Looking forward to seeing him bag in the Champions League next year.

Was Jack Robinson offside in the build-up to that goal? It looked very close but there's no VAR in this one so we played on. Like the good old days.

GOAL - Reading 1-2 Sheffield Unitedpublished at 22:09 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    Billy Sharp (105 mins)

    He.

    Scores.

    Goals.

Billy Sharp may well have just headed the Blades into the last eight of the FA Cup. Luke Freeman does brilliantly to tiptoe through the Royals defence and stand up a lovely little cross and the goalpoacher supreme is there to head into the roof of the net.

'Can't see us doing much in Europe' - that's the holders and finalists the year before that you're talking about.

Josh, London: Genuinely haven't seen a teenager boss the midfield like Billy Gilmour did today since Jack Wilshere against Barca.

Henry: The result shows Liverpool's lack of squad depth. Big ask to compete in three major competitions with the depth we've got. Will take the league, can't see us doing much in Europe but hopefully a busy time in the market summer time.

  9. CLOSE!published at 22:06 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    Reading 1-1 Sheffield United

Reading look the more likely as Andy Rinomhota drives into the area but fires wide. A tired-looking swing with his left foot to be honest.

  10. 'A difficult game for Berge'published at 22:05 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    Reading 1-1 Sheffield United

    Keith Edwards
Ex-Sheffield United striker on BBC Radio Sheffield

Sander Berge has come to Sheffield United with a big price tag. I thought he started the game really well, but it’s been that type of game where not a great deal has come from midfield.

It’s been a difficult game for him.

  11. 'You have to celebrate a win like that'published at 22:05 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool

A howler from Adrian gives Chelsea the lead against Liverpool

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard on BBC One:

"I'm really proud. Liverpool are the best team in the league and what they are doing is incredible. So for us to put in a performance like that, the effort, the quality was something special. We know we've got a long way to go but you have to celebrate those moments."

On Billy Gilmour: "What an incredible performance for a young player. He was a calm head in that first five or 10 minutes. He's a throwback of a midfielder. Can you put your foot in? Yes. Can you make angles to play the passes? Yes. He's only slight in stature but he's huge in personality. He deserves people to talk about him after a performance like that."

On recalled goalkeeper Kepa: "I was really pleased for Kepa. It's not easy because all players want to play and a goalkeeper gets scrutinised more than any other position and he made some good saves. He's shown good character and he played well."

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 22:01 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    Reading 1-1 Sheffield United

Reading have brought Pele on to partner Puscas. If that doesn't bring us a goal I don't know what will.

  14. Postpublished at 22:00 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

I used to cover a lot of Reading games and their habit of kicking off at 8pm was always a bit inconvenient so extra time tonight just adds to the delays for those trying to get home.

Ovie Ejaria drives into the penalty area and wins a corner, which Oli McBurnie almost heads into his own net.

Tremendous rendition of Sweet Caroline by both sets of supporters as they pumped it out over the PA system here during that break before extra time.

Amps turned up to 11 as they would've said on This Is Spinal Tap...

Will a Reading goal set things up for an upset and a headline act in this additional 30 minutes?

Ben, Durham: Recent results show just how important Jordan Henderson is to Liverpool.

Donald: Chelsea put in a solid dominant display. The 2-0 score-line flattered Liverpool. Could have been more! #bbcfootball, external

James Campbell: When you focus on the results and not the process, you get sloppy results. A good process sets you up for success. Take note, Liverpool. Need to step it up. #BBCFootball, external
