Ex-Sheffield United striker on BBC Radio Sheffield

Extra-time is an exciting prospect. I just don’t know where the goal’s going to come from – for both teams.

I think we’re going to have to persevere. Sheffield United need a little bit more quality in the final pass if they want to win this game.

  3. 'It's always a dream to score against Liverpool'published at 21:49 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool

    Chelsea

Chelsea goalscorer Ross Barkley on BBC One:

"It was brilliant, a massive result for the lads. We needed a top performance tonight at home after two disappointing results.

"Scoring against Liverpool is massive for me. As an Everton fan, it's always a dream to score against them.

(on Man of the Match Billy Gilmour) "Billy was brilliant. But it was not a surprise to me. I've seen him in training and he was like that in training last season."

  5. Postpublished at 21:48 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    Reading 1-1 Sheffield United

    Adam Williams
    BBC Sport at Madejski Stadium

Have to say that Reading have looked the more likely to pinch this one before the end of 90 minutes.

They have soaked up huge swathes of Sheffield United pressure and looked to hit the Blades on the break.

A couple of times the final ball has just evaded them, but Mark Bowen's side so far have responded tremendously to going behind inside 90 seconds of this game.

  7. 'I expected more from Liverpool'published at 21:45 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool

    Ian Wright
Former Arsenal striker on BBC One

Everyone can have a dip but what we saw from Watford, Chelsea did the same and didn't give them anytime on the ball and they couldn't produce anything.

I was very disappointed with Liverpool. I expected more.

  8. Postpublished at 21:45 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

Oliver McBurnie heads a corner clear. This has got penalty shootout written through it like a stick of rock.

    Reading 1-1 Sheffield United

    Keith Edwards
Ex-Sheffield United striker on BBC Radio Sheffield

Ben Osborn’s been sharp tonight. He’s looked to get forward all the time and he’s been very positive.

He’s done a good job for me tonight.

  13. 'Chelsea have not played better under Lampard'published at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool

    Jermaine Jenas
Ex-Tottenham and Newcastle midfielder on BBC One

Chelsea have worked their socks off. I am not sure Frank will have seen his team play better. They could have scored more goals but they had a plan and they have executed it.

  14. Postpublished at 21:37 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    Reading 1-1 Sheffield United

    Adam Williams
    BBC Sport at Madejski Stadium

Chris Wilder opts to throw on Billy Sharp in place of goalscorer David McGoldrick in a bid to kill off this Reading resilience.

Could be a good omen for the Blades as Sharp was on the scoresheet when these sides last met on this ground in a Championship away win for the men from the Steel City.

Into the last 10 minutes of normal time.

  17. 'Liverpool more shaky than normal'published at 21:36 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool

    Jermaine Jenas
Ex-Tottenham and Newcastle midfielder on BBC One

It has been a different one for Jurgen Klopp. It's not like Watford when he would have been very disappointed.

At times Liverpool have looked good but they have been a lot more shaky defensively than we are used to seeing.

  18. Postpublished at 21:36 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    West Brom 1-3 Newcastle

    Alistair Magowan
    BBC Sport at The Hawthorns

The Newcastle fans have gone a bit quiet now, and no wonder.

Since Miguel Almiron went off and the visitors reverted to 5-4-1, it has been all West Brom. Wasn't Jonjo Shelvey supposed to steady the ship?

  19. Postpublished at 21:36 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool

This will be three defeats in four games for Liverpool as the watching world work out where to place them on the scale between "best club team in PL history" and "best of a terrible bunch".

Win against Atletico and watch the scales turn...

  20. Man of the Match - Billy Gilmourpublished at 21:33 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2020

    Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool

    Jermaine Jenas
Ex-Tottenham and Newcastle midfielder on BBC One

There have been a lot of good performances but I have been so impressed by this young lad. He's had such a calm head and he's not given the ball away all night. It's been a brilliant evening for him.
