  7. 'It’s not about painting pretty pictures all the time' - Lennonpublished at 14:37

    FT: Aberdeen 1-2 Celtic

Although Celtic weren't at their best today, Lennon was still keen to credit his players for the way they grinded out a 13th straight away win.

Speaking to BBC Sportsound post-match, the Celtic manager added: "That’s all credit to the players today, they had to be resilient at times, they had to be strong and defend set plays well.

"That’s exactly what I want from my team, it’s not always about painting pretty pictures all the time, sometimes you have to dig in."

The win means Celtic are now 13 points clear of second placed Rangers who play Livingston at 3pm today, but Lennon won't be complacent: "Other results are out with our control, we’ve just got to concentrate on ourselves and not get carried away.

"We’re happy and we’ll enjoy the trip home, but we’ve got a big game coming up on Thursday and a huge game next Sunday away to Kilmarnock."

  8. 'It’s a magnificent three points for us' - Lennonpublished at 14:33

    FT: Aberdeen 1-2 Celtic

Celtic had to dig in for their three points this afternoon against an impressive Aberdeen side in a game that was impacted by poor conditions, and it's down to overcoming this that manager Neil Lennon is understandably delighted with the result.

Speaking to BBC Sportsound post-match, Lennon said: "That was the hardest game I’ve had by a considerable way. Conditions were awful and we were playing against a very good side. It’s a magnificent three points for us.

Neil Lennon hailed his Celtic side following their late winner at PIttodrie

"At one stage in the second half you’re thinking a draw might not be a bad result, but you’re always thinking where can we affect it. We changed and went to a 4-3-3 and it seemed to put Aberdeen out of shape a bit."

  9. 'We gave ourselves every chance' McInnespublished at 14:26

    FT: Aberdeen 1-2 Celtic

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Sportsound: "We went out to get a positive result and ultimately, we didn't.

"We gave ourselves every chance to get a result. For me, the battle starts in the dressing room and in the tunnel. In your head you've got to make sure you go out with the right mindset because you need to try to disrupt Celtic.

"I know that people will make out that the pitch was difficult in the conditions, but it's difficult for both sets of players.

"The intent from my team was clear today. We did get after them, we did annoy them, we did put them under pressure. At no point did we want to settle for a point in the second half.

"I thought we were very close to doing that [winning the game]. Ultimately, the disappointment is even more."

    Rangers v Livingston (15:00)

Steven Gerrard makes just one change from the midweek defeat at Kilmarnock, with Joe Aribo making way in midfield for Steven Davis.

For Livingston boss Gary Holt, it's fair to say he's mixing things up. A total of six players are brought in for the trip to Ibrox, Schofield, Lamie, Jacobs, Lawson, Crawford & Souda all in. McCrorie, McMillan, Taylor-Sinclair, Bartley, Sibbald & Robinson all out.

Rangers fans driving to Ibrox today would've been willing Aberdeen to hold on for a point, but for Celtic to score it must be a real kick in the teeth to the Rangers team, staff and fans going to the game against Livingston

Aberdeen needed that performance on the back of the Hamilton win. They needed it for the fans. Fans had started to dwindle away from Pittodrie, but they'll come back quickly if Derek McInnes can get performances like that

For Celtic, that's how you win leagues. You maybe have three-quarters of your games that you play well and put teams to the sword, but you get games like that today when the conditions are horrendous and you come up against a tough opponent
