All credit to Lloris for trying to style this out by pushing the ball out of the net, even as Marcel Sabitzer celebrates.

Among players from Serie A, only Cristiano Ronaldo (13) has scored more goals than Atalanta forward Josip Ilicic this year. He has 12.

When I was in the other night covering Tottenham v Norwich Jose Mourinho said the club had to decide if they wanted to prioritise Burnley or this game.

Looks like a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor was the decision they made.

HT: Valencia 1-2 Atalanta (Agg: 2-6)

Valencia have given away six penalties in the Champions League since the beginning of last season, the most of any side.

    Shambolic, really.

A cross comes in, Patrik Schick tries an overhead kick, it ricochets around the six-yard box, Eric Dier doesn't know what to do with it, tries a clearance which goes straight into a Leipzig player and Hugo Lloris has to make a save.

Harry Winks is then booked for a cynical foul on halfway.

  8. CLOSE!published at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2020

RB Leipzig 2-0 Tottenham (Agg: 3-0)

Better from Spurs, much better as Gio lo Celso works an angle on his left foot and snakes in a low shot which forces a save from Peter Gulacsi.

He then comes to claim a corner with real authority.

  9. goal

GOAL - Valencia 1-2 Atalanta (Agg: 2-6)published at 20:43 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2020

    Josip Ilicic (Pen 43 mins)

Josip Ilicic keeps his cool again to steer in another penalty with his left foot. Into the last eight surely?

There’s one team playing with so much confidence both on and off the ball – and then there’s Tottenham who are just trying to find their way into the game.

  11. PENALTY to ATALANTApublished at 20:42 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2020

Given! Handball from Mouctar Diakhaby who has conceded two pens tonight now. Nightmare.

Another penalty for Atalanta? They're having a look at this for handball.

Merv from St Albans: It's times like these Spurs really miss Trippier and Rose

Ed from Guildford: The total collapse in confidence and form of every one of this Spurs' team from 10 months ago is nothing short of catastrophic. Winks, Alderweireld, Lloris and plenty of others... world beaters to no hopers!

Lee Morgan: Not sure why so there's much criticism of Lloris. He's getting no protection from his defence. Too many defenders want to 'get up the pitch' and have lost the ability to actually defend. Hashtag basics.

  14. Postpublished at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2020

RB Leipzig 2-0 Tottenham (Agg: 3-0)

Spurs have had just the one shot on goal so far, none on target. It's been a bad week for Tottenham who have some serious work to do between now and the start of next season.

  15. Postpublished at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2020

    Valencia 1-1 Atalanta (Agg: 2-5)

A long spell of Valencian pressure leads to nothing much. Remember, a 4-1 win on the night for the hosts would send us to extra time. Stranger things have happened.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2020

RB Leipzig 2-0 Tottenham (Agg: 3-0)

I thought the one thing you were guaranteed when appointing Mourinho, apart from some sort of fall out with at least one player, was a regimented defence.

They're all over the shop out there. Injuries or no injuries.

Ryan Sessegnon goes into the book for treading on his man.

  17. 'It's so easy for Leipzig'published at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2020

RB Leipzig 2-0 Tottenham (Agg: 3-0)

    Rob Green
Former West Ham and England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Tottenham are getting stretched all over the pitch. When they attack the front three are on their own and the midfield can’t get close.

When Leipzig break, the Tottenham team are stretched across 70 yards of this pitch so it’s so easy for Leipzig to pick the holes in their defence.

  18. Postpublished at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2020

RB Leipzig 2-0 Tottenham (Agg: 3-0)

Timo Werner runs at the Spurs defence and beats them again, he cuts on to his right foot and clubs a shot over the top. He's very, very lively.

  19. Postpublished at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2020

    Valencia 1-1 Atalanta (Agg: 2-5)

Some suggestions on twitter that the crowd noise we thought was coming from outside the ground might actually being played through the speakers in the stadium. All a touch surreal...

Dele Alli is having a go at least. That's three times in the last few minutes that he's beaten his man and started to run in on goal. Just so short of options.

At the other end Timo Werner has another powerful shot pushed out by Hugo Lloris.
