That was the warning Liverpool needed. They have completely dominated the second half - and most of the first. It must be so tough for Atletico to hold this because the pressure just keeps coming and it will not stop in these next 30 minutes.

    Atletico score! OFFSIDE!

Diego Simeone was on the pitch celebrating, that would have been curtains. What a header too as Saul buried it into the top corner but he was well offside...

Martin: Milner is on to take a penalty.

Lots and lots of pressure from Liverpool now, as they always do in the last 10 minutes. They've thrown a lot of players forward and I'd say Mo Salah is having his best period of the game.

Emre Can fouled Neymar, who didn't like it, and Can then shoved him to the floor. Angel di Maria also picked up a booking despite not being on the pitch.

This is definitely not in the virus code of coduct - a massive scuffle has broken out. Hands on everywhere, pushing and shoving, an insect-like swarm of bodies mass and move towards the sidelines...

They also have longer to play at Anfield, which is not an advantage.

Abid: Kieran Trippier has been excellent defensively. Unfortunately he's been off the England radar since his move to Spain but he's reminding us of how good he can be today.

Anon:If the tie goes to extra time and finishes 2-2, Atletico will go through on away goals. How is that fair? It's a route to winning the tie that's only available to half of the teams. The team playing away second has a third longer to score away goals.

  14. CLOSE!published at 21:44 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2020

Liverpool 1-0 Atletico Madrid (Agg 1-1)

Brilliant, brilliant form Mo Salah! He wriggles in from the right, goes between Koke and Thomas Partey, opens up space for a shot and blasts one wide of the top corner.

Nearly lovely. Three minutes left of normal time. Extra time lingering. Looming.

  15. CLOSE!published at 21:42 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2020

Good effort! Gini Wijnaldum heads a cross back into the middle, Sadio Mane with the acrobatics, clubs an overhead kick wide. Great connection, just errant.

PSG love a late meltdown in the Champions League. They have seven minutes to see this out and reach the last eight.

Dortmund, so often fuelled by their yellow wall, have been half paced in this empty stadium tonight.

Absolutely brilliant pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold to cut it back for Andy Robertson on th eedge of the area, he fires over the top.

Liverpool send on James Milner for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain which is a surprise. The Ox has been excellent this evening.

    Nine minutes left.

The Atletico threat feels much greater now that Costa has gone off and the speedy Correa and Joao Felix are up their for Atleti. There is a real lurking threat from the men in black.
