    Man City 5-0 Burnley

Gabriel Jesus hasn't really got into the game since coming on for Aguero. He carries the ball across the edge of the box but his pass for De Bruyne - presumably to tee him up for a shot - is woefully short and easy for Burnley to cut out.

Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

This is so easy for Man City, Burnley look lost and they do not have any options at all.

They just cannot get any momentum to get up the pitch to try and win some free-kicks and corners.

I've got two cats at home. They often bring terrified, helpless shrews in that they've caught from the field round the back of our house and then proceed to "play" with them for about an hour and a half. Burnley are very much the shrew here.

Abu: This is a big result for Arsenal's fight for 10th..

Keith Chapman: And... Burnley score six in response.

I don't think any side has needed a water break as much as Burnley do right now.

I imagine most of their fans at home have already reached for something a bit stronger.

    Man City 5-0 Burnley

Do Burnley want to concede more? It looks like it by the way they back off De Bruyne to invite a shot from the midfielder. They are very lucky that he pulls his shot from the edge of the box wide.

Coming in to your thoughts, Pat? I'd say we're already there.

Gabriel Jesus almost makes it six, lashing a shot wide after being fed by Foden.

A nicely worked goal. I think Gabriel Jesus has mis-hit it but a lovely finish from Phil Foden.

5-0 and the word 'rout' is coming into the thought now.

    Phil Foden

Just in case the man of the match was in doubt.

City hit Burnley for five again. The ball is spread wide for David Silva and his low cross is sliced on by Gabriel Jesus for Foden to finish at the far post.

    Ruthless.

    Man City 4-0 Burnley

City's first real mistake of the night ends with Joao Cancelo getting a booking for dragging back Matej Vydra in the home half. Could have been worse, though. A lose ball had initially let the Clarets striker nip and begin to charge towards the box.

The card is as bad as it gets for City, though, as McNeil lashes the resulting free-kick into the stand behind the goal.

You can almost hear the Burnley players saying 'oh, come on!'. Riyad Mahrez and Fernandinho depart for City. On come Aymeric Laporte and Kevin de Bruyne.

Well Manchester City are not dropping any points tonight, which means Liverpool cannot win the Premier League on Wednesday, when they entertain Crystal Palace.

However a victory against former boss Roy Hodgson would mean any City slip up at Chelsea the following night would see the Reds crowned champions.

But if City win? Their next Premier League opponents after that are Liverpool - at the Etihad Stadium on 2 July.

No sign of the young lads yet, but Burnley are making a change sending on defender Eric Pieters for forward Jay Rodriguez.

Very much a sign that the Clarets don't want this to get any worse.

Oh, the television coverage has just pointed out that Josh Brownhill got a booking in the first half, that went slightly under the radar.

It is a deserved one too. He left a foot in on Rodri and planted his studs halfway up the shin.

Another young English player heading to Dortmund. Jadon Sancho's future team-mate or replacement?

  16. Bellingham to Borussiapublished at 21:17 British Summer Time 22 June 2020

BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Borussia Dortmund are hopeful of completing the signing of midfielder Jude Bellingham from Birmingham City.

In August Bellingham became the youngest player in Birmingham’s history when he made his first-team debut aged 16 years and 38 days, beating the record of former England international Trevor Francis.

Manchester United were amongst the clubs to show an interest in the England Under-17 international.

But Dortmund feel they can use the example of how Jadon Sancho’s career has flourished after he moved to Germany from Manchester City at the age of 17 to persuade Bellingham to make the same move.

Foden has had to bide his time at City but since the Premier League's return he has shown just why he is touted as the man to take on creative responsibility for Pep Guardiola's side.

He finds pockets of space so easily, and now he's adding killer balls and fierce finishes to his repertoire. Scary.

    David Silva

    Inevitable.

City's elder statesman gets in on the action, finishing from close range when it would have been harder to miss.

It was made, though, by a superb little reverse pass from Foden to find Bernardo Silva behind Burnley's defence and with all the time in the world to pick out his namesake.

    Quality all round.

    Man City 3-0 Burnley

City are clearly hungry for four and more. Oleksandr Zinchenko cuts inside and unleashes a piledriver that could well have tested Nick Pope but strikes David Silva before we can find out.

If Burnley had any designs on shifting the momentum of this game they've shown absolutely no sign yet.
