  2. Handball ref!published at 22:47 British Summer Time 23 June 2020

Should Spurs' opener have stood? It came off Davinson Sanchez's arm on its way in.

Here's the rule, introduced for this season, on handball.

"Any goal scored or created with the use of the hand or arm will be disallowed this season even if it is accidental.

"The handball rule now has extra clarity because it does not consider intent by a player. "

  3. No Ngakia?published at 22:45 British Summer Time 23 June 2020

Interestingly right at the end David Moyes was asked if we had seen the last of Jeremy Ngakia in a West Ham shirt - and he said yes.

The right-back started against Wolves but is out of contract next week.

David Moyes is not impressed with that call it's fair to say...

"Who was the guy in the studio checking that? He needs checking himself."

West Ham manager David Moyes to Sky Sports: "I've only just seen it [the opening goal] and I can't believe they've ruled that as a goal. Any handball is disallowed? That's the rule. Who is on VAR tonight? Not very good eh?

"Those are the rules, it's not a particularly good rule but I can't believe it. We had a goal disallowed at Sheffield United for the same rule.

"I thought the team worked really hard, we made it difficult for Tottenham, there were a lot of good things I can take from the game but it's the points we needed.

"We are lacking goals. We had one or two chances, Jarrod Bowen hits the post but we have to take those chances.

"We have improved from our first game, there were signs rthat we were better. We want to build a new young team."

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho to Sky Sports: "I am happy for him [Harry Kane], he worked a lot and now there will be better headlines and a better feeling for him.

"He has been phenomenal in lockdown, did amazing work at home and he is in the condition to help the team. I am happy with the result, the clean sheet, it means the team is more solid, the players have less doubts. We played aganst a team with a coach with a lot of experience that organises teams in a very difficult way. I could predict that but they made it difficult for us.

"Our bench was rich, that helped me. To be honest, I don't thnk it's fair for West Ham to come here with 24 hours less to prepare than us. At the moment it is not nice."

Tottenham goalscorer Harry Kane on Sky Sports: "As a striker you want to score goals and help win the game. It was a tough game, we had a few chances and it was nice to finish it off at the end.

"When you've been out for over six months it's about getting that feeling back on the pitch. I should've scored one other but it's nice to put that one away.

"I'm in good shape. I've been working very hard. I feel as good as I've ever done."

On going a long time without a goal: "I'm someone, whether I score or not, I'm ready for the next one, it doesn't bother me too much. Scoring is the best feeling in the world."

On reaching 137 goals in 200 Premier League games for Spurs: "It's good but it can always be better. 200 games it goes so quick. The years fly by and you have to make the most of it. I'm still only 26 so hopefully I can get to that 200 mark sooner rather than later and go from there."

Tottenham defender/midfieder Eric Dier to Sky Sports: "It was really pleasing, especially after the Manchester United game when we felt we deserved more from the game. We started slow but grew into the game and the second half was a lot better.

"We were a bit cagey and slow in the first 25 minutes but we needed to play quicker. West Ham were well organised but we felt they would tire. We know what to expect, they would come here and sit back and counter attack.

"As we got better we passed the ball quicker. It's a strange feeling because before lockdown we weren't in good form but we have been working very hard. We have felt positive in the restart and hopefully that continues.

"Champions League is the aim. We knew if we didn't win tonight it might be too far."
