    Fabinho (55 mins)

    WOW!

What a goal that is! Andrew Robertson plays it square, megging ref Martin Atkinson in the process, and finds Fabinho maybe 30 yards out.

He's closed down but cuts across the ball and absolutely slaughters it past the dive of Wayne Hennessey and into the corner. A brilliant goal!

What say you this time Lawro?

Max Meyer thought he was fouled, referee Martin Atkinson disagrees. Andrew Robertson flies forward, lines up a shot and slams it over the top.

Gary Cahill gives Atkinson what for.

Great tackle from the impressive Fabinho to stop a Palace counter. More goals in this. Palace look tired.

Almost three instantly! Andrew Robertson is a hard man to stop but Palace don't even try, watching him run and cross on the run. Mamadou Sakho is facing his own goal, has Mo Salah behind him and takes the rather maverick decision to pull out and let it go by them both.

Good call as Salah didn't read it. He would have had a tap-in.

So basically we are setting up for Pep having to go find the keys to the trophy cabinet at the Etihad next week.

It will do nothing for our younger audience push to ask but I wonder whether this side is better than the one from 1987ish?

Barnes, Beardsley, Rush, Aldridge, McMahon. A proper team that was.

Liverpool have scored 100 or more goals across all competitions for a third consecutive season. That's the first time they have achieved that since 1986-87.

    FT: Wolves 1-0 Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe speaking to PLP: "It hurts deeply at the moment, the run we're on and the results we have had. There was very little goalmouth action from either team today and we could quite easily have picked up a point.

"I thought we were below par on the ball today - our organisation was good - but we were more wasteful with the ball as the game went on and that disappoints us as we're better than that.

"I can't fault the attitude and commitment of the players so hopefully that will change our fortunes quickly. We are well aware of where we are and the challenges we face in forgetting that position.

"It was a definite improvement from the Crystal Palace game in terms of intensity and defensive organisation. One result will change everything for us at this moment and that is what we have to try and commit to."

Patrick Van Aanholt was tracking Mo Salah so I'm not really sure what happened to it. He looked at the keeper and judged what he was doing and it was just a simple task for him. Salah just reacted quicker than Van Aanholt despite the defenders starting position being better than Salah's.

    Mo Salah (44 mins)

The best make what isn't easy look easy and that is a superb goal from Liverpool. Fabinho has nearly every other player on the pitch in front of him when he receives it just over halfway, he comes under pressure but lofts the ball with perfect weight over the head of the retreating Patrick van Aanholt for Mo Salah to control on his chest. The finish is as expected.

    Liverpool 1-0 Crystal Palace

A very decent attempt from Max Meyer! The Palace sub picks the ball up in the centre circle after a duff header from Joe Gomez, runs in on goal and shoots - but just cuts acorss it and it flies wide.
