Wow! First and foremost Mo Salah just sliced it trying to shoot before the keeper got back but I've got no idea what Wayne Hennessey is doing there. He doesn't need to come that far out.

Wayne Hennessey comes out to sweep up like Manuel Neuer but unlike Manuel Neuer he heads it straight to Mo Salah.

Salah takes aim, hits it back from 40 yards but shanks across it and it flies wide. Haven't quite calibrated the old sights yet.

Goal threat has been sparse at best from the visitors. They have lost arguably their most dangerous player of course. It's only 1-0, Roy won't be too unhappy so far.

Georginio Wijnaldum wanted it a little bit more to his right and it got stuck between his feet a little and he just dragged it wide.

Again, he should score really. For the second time this evening Gini Wijnaldum shoots wide from about 10 yards when well placed.

Roberto Firmino tries to dink the ball past Gary Cahill and he wants a penalty for handball. He was touch tight there. No pen.

I was just about to say, Fabinho is fooling nobody by lining up alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold, but it is the Brazilian who takes the free-kick and curls it into the Anfield Road end.

Jordan Henderson struck it really well. But Crystal Palace just seemed to be surprised that the ball came back at them - they were poor defensively. It wasn’t a great punch.

Virgil van Dijk then heads over from the follow-up corner and he's being held. Pass interference. He looks at the ref who just ignores him.

Off the post! Andrew Robertson's free-kick this time causes trouble, Wayne Hennessey flaps it down, Jordan Henderson hits it on the bounce and it thwacks the post. Virgil van Dijk nearly smuggles it home too.

What a night for Trent Alexander-Arnold. Wilfried Zaha limps off after 10 minutes and then he gets a free-kick that he scores.

It didn't have to be a brilliant free-kick. It went in a foot or two away from the goal post, it was just a nice, easy strike. I'm not too sure about the goalkeeper's position - we said it was in the centre of the goal so if you're going to stand on one side it's an awful lot of yards you've got to make up.
