Ideozu-Frank Sampson: A friend of mine here in Nigeria predicts this Southampton v Arsenal game to finish 5:5 epic draw! He's a staunch Arsenal supporter, mind!

Not sure we could cope with that much drama in this heat, Ideozu!

    Southampton 0-1 Arsenal

Southampton have tightened up defensively and Arsenal are not looking like getting in behind anywhere near as much as they were earlier in the game.

The Gunners are having to patiently pass from one side of the pitch to the other and try and work an opening.

  3. CLOSE!published at 18:35 British Summer Time 25 June 2020

    Burnley 0-0 Watford

Watford are not far off as Craig Dawson plants a header from Tom Cleverley's corner just over the bar.

That's the closest the visitors have come in the 33 minutes of play we have had so far.

  4. Postpublished at 18:32 British Summer Time 25 June 2020

    Burnley 0-0 Watford

The drinks break has disrupted Burnley's momentum at Turf Moor and there's not been much in the way of final-third action at either end of the pitch for the last couple of minutes.

  5. 'Rodriguez always on move'published at 18:32 British Summer Time 25 June 2020

    Burnley 0-0 Watford

    Dion Dublin
Former Aston Villa & Man Utd striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Jay Rodriguez has started really well tonight for Burnley. He is always on the move.

The two Watford central defenders are being kept thinking by the movement and closing down of the Burnley forwards.

Luke: Arsenal leading, but they were also all over Brighton for 85 mins. The bar has already saved Southampton just like it did Brighton and ref against Arsenal again. Arsenal always need 2 goals.

As an Arsenal fan, I have to laugh at people saying Liverpools win wont be valid. They've walked the league and won it well before lockdown. People have no class.

    Southampton 0-1 Arsenal

Oooh, a warning for Arsenal as they fall asleep at the back, allowing Danny Ings to bring a ball into the box under control before cutting back to Ryan Bertrand, who sweeps a low ball across the face of goal but just out of Stuart Armstrong's reach.

It was all a bit too easy to open Arsenal up there.

A break in play at both Burnley and Southampton now as the players have a well-earned drinks break.

    Burnley 0-0 Watford

    Dion Dublin
Former Aston Villa & Man Utd striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Ben Foster made a decision to come and thought 'what am I doing out here?'. He was in no man's land. Burnley should be ahead.

  12. CLOSE!published at 18:24 British Summer Time 25 June 2020

    Burnley 0-0 Watford

    OFF THE LINE!

Burnley are denied again as this time Jay Rodriguez's shot is blocked on the line by Craig Dawson before Josh Brownhill sweeps wide with Ben Foster out of position.

How on earth are Burnley not ahead?

  13. 'Absolute calamity'published at 18:23 British Summer Time 25 June 2020

    Southampton 0-1 Arsenal

    Steven Reid
Former Blackburn midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live sports extra

That is an absolute calamity by Alex McCarthy. You have to take your hat off to Eddie Nketiah. Southampton started well but now they have a lot to do to get back into the game.

    Eddie Nketiah (20 mins)

    An absolute gift!

What are Southampton playing at at the back? Jan Bednarek has the ball on the left, sees no options going forward so plays it back to Alex McCarthy, who hits his clearance straight at Eddie Nketiah, who then rolls the ball into the empty net.

A big slice of fortune about the goal but no less than Arsenal deserve for a confident start.

Both games are being played at a high tempo, despite the searing heat. Just under five minutes until the first drinks break.

  16. Postpublished at 18:19 British Summer Time 25 June 2020

    Southampton 0-0 Arsenal

Eddie Nketiah's cross is deflected behind as Arsenal come forward again. A short corner is put behind again by Danny Ings but the next one comes to nothing for Arsenal.

It was an amazing cross but he was offside by a couple of yards.

It was a great ball in. He should not be offside there Jay Rodriguez. He can see right across the line.

  18. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 25 June 2020

    Burnley 0-0 Watford

Jay Rodriguez thumps a header into the back of the net from Ashley Westwood's inch-perfect cross but Rodriguez was in an offside position when the ball came in.

    Confident start by Burnley, though.

I have supported Liverpool since 1974 and I've waited 30 years for this. The league title is our bread and butter as Bill Shankly once said. This HAS been a real league season whether others like it or not and we have been the best team. Fact.

Great run by Danny Ings who, in pursuit of his 17th goal of the season, embarks on a mazy run through the Arsenal defence but he eventually runs into a bit of trouble and his shot is blocked.
