  1. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 18:22 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Everton 2-0 Leicester

That could have been another! Dominic Calvert-Lewin gets clear of the Leicester defence and Caglar Soyuncu just barges into him.

It's a good old-fashioned shoulder charge and then some, but referee David Coote waves this one away...

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 18:22 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Arsenal 0-0 Norwich

Where did that come from!? Ben Godfrey tries his luck from more than 25 yards and it is an absolute rocket that Emiliano Martinez has to push away.

  3. Postpublished at 18:21 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Bournemouth 0-1 Newcastle

Possession wise it has been pretty even but Bournemouth have offered nothing yet in attack, with Martin Dubravka having had nothing to do.

    Everton 2-0 Leicester

As I mentioned pre-match, that penalty has been a long time coming. Everton end a run of 38 consecutive Premier League matches without being awarded one, since Gylfi Sigurdsson had his spot-kick saved by Kepa Arrizabalaga in a 2-0 home win against Chelsea on 17 March 2019 (Sigurdsson scored the rebound).

The Toffees score a PL penalty for the first time since Sigurdsson converted his spot-kick in a 5-1 victory at Burnley on Boxing Day 2018.

    Arseanl 0-0 Norwich

Arsenal are dominating possession at the moment but Norwich's defensive shape is good and openings for the hosts are limited.

Hector Bellerin chases a hopeful ball through the lines but he's never going to reach it and the ball rolls out of play.

GOAL - Everton 2-0 Leicesterpublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Gylfi Sigurdsson (Pen 16 mins)

You don't get much calmer than that, Gylfi Sigurdsson taking a penalty like his side are 17-3 up on Khalsa B in your local Thursday night powerleague.

One step and clipped to the right of Kasper Schmeichel, minimal celebration.

Leicester's poor form looks like continuing.

  7. PENALTY to EVERTONpublished at 18:15 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Everton 1-0 Leicester

It's a strange one. Lucas Digne whips in the free-kick to the far post and Michael Keane and Wilfred Ndidi go up for it. It looks like they both handle the ball, but possibly the Leicester man does first.

After many, many replays they give it!

    Bournemouth 0-1 Newcastle

Eddie Howe twiddles his pen nervously and he isn't looking best pleased with what he is seeing on the pitch at the moment. Bournemouth look very flat.

Hang on, is this handball? They're having a look. It could be a penalty for Everton...

    Bournemouth 0-1 Newcastle

    Chris Wise
    MOTD at the Vitality Stadium

Eddie Howe immediately reached for the notebook after that Newcastle goal, and I can’t imagine whatever was written on that piece of paper was particularly complimentary.

The game had barely warmed up, and Jefferson Lerma has gifted the visitors the lead.

Newcastle meanwhile have looked relaxed and assured in the opening 10 minutes.

  11. CLOSE!published at 18:12 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Everton 1-0 Leicester

Leicester respond well though and Dennis Praet almost flukes an equaliser when his deflected pass/shot squirms narrowly wide. Had Jordan Pickford worried for a moment.

  12. Postpublished at 18:12 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Arsenal 0-0 Norwich

First save of the game as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang cuts inside before firing a shot at goal but Tim Krul saves well.

Norwich then break quickly but Arsenal get back to defend and close out the chance.

  13. goal

GOAL - Everton 1-0 Leicesterpublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Richarlison (10 mins)

I told you he was doing well! Fantastic wing play form Anthony Gordon, who runs on to Lucas Digne's header, takes a touch and then just flashes a low cutback into the middle. Didn't even look up.

Just hit a good area, Richarlison was alive to it, got there before the defender and crashes past Kasper Schmeichel from six or seven yards out.

  14. Postpublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Everton 0-0 Leicester

Everton are growing into the game now after that very timid start. Young Anthony Gordon has done well down the left.

  15. 'Simple, smooth finish'published at 18:08 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Bournemouth 0-1 Newcastle

    Matt Upson
Former England and West Ham defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

What a horrible start for Bournemouth. Terrible mix-up while they were in comfortable possession.

It's a brave tackle by Sean Longstaff to turn the ball over and it's a simple, smooth finish.

    Dwight Gayle (5 mins)

    Disastrous start for Bournemouth.

When your position is so precarious, you cannot defend like this. Jefferson Lerma loses the ball and Allan Saint-Maximin wins possession before quickly finding Dwight Gayle and the striker tucks the ball into the bottom corner.

All Leicester still, they're moving the ball much shaper than in the last few games. Looking slick.

Kieran Tierney looks to get the ball into the box after being picked out on the left but his cross is blocked.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Newcastle

    Matt Upson

It has been quite a frantic start. The ball is popping around and both teams are starting at quite a high intensity.

  20. Postpublished at 18:03 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Everton 0-0 Leicester

Strong, composed start from Leicester and that's very nearly a good chance for Jamie Vardy. At the end of a long spell of play Youri Tielemans feeds it into Vardy's run, he's about to shoot from about 12 yards or so but Lucas Digne recovers to get back and make a challenge.
