This is Arsenal's first competitive home game since 7 March and the Emirates pitch looks like a carpet.

Gunners players will wear black armbands and hold a moment of silence to remember former coach Theo Foley, who died last week aged 83.

The former Republic of Ireland international served as George Graham’s No 2 at Highbury between 1986-90.

Lack of goals is a huge issue, which any manager would find hard to overcome because you can't win football matches.

There might have been other matches where Jamie Vardy had a significant time not touching the ball just because how he plays in the shoulder. The use of his pace and willingness to run in behind hits teams but Leicester haven't clicked since we have come back.

  8. 'We need to prove it 'published at 17:50 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Bournemouth v Newcastle (18:00 BST)

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe speaking to Sky Sports: "We have tried to focus on ourselves, what we do well and what our strengths are. Collectively, we have focused on our attitudes. If we get ourselves right, hopefully that shows.

"We have tried to pick an attacking team that will hopefully create and score goals. That has been a challenge for us in recent weeks. I believe in the team and the squad but it's not the time to talk at the moment, we need to prove it on the pitch."

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce: "We have got an opportunity if results go our way a little bit to get into the top 10. That has got to be our aim for the end of the season.

"We are Newcastle so we're always going to be looking over our shoulder a little bit. We can't be complacent to think we have done enough yet but we have a wonderful opportunity so hopefully we can go and get that result.

"We looked at him [Allan Saint-Maximin] yesterday and he bounced into training. He recovered and was a sharp as anything. He put himself in the line-up really."

Mesut Ozil obviously hasn't been sitting comfortably on the sofa. You can talk about so many facets as to why it hasn't gone well for him at Arsenal but I'm really tired of talking about it.

Mikel Arteta has to get into a position where he can just take it out of the equation and look at the players that are able to fulfil what he wants to do. It is very frustrating to see.

Paul: West Ham will go. Awful team managed by a clown who thinks he "knows how to win" . (his words when they hired him) it's no wonder Karren Brady wanted the season ended, only way West Ham would have survived.

  12. 'Gordon deserved to play'published at 17:44 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Everton v Leicester (18:00 BST)

Everton manager Carlo Ancellotti speaking to Sky Sports: "For what he [Anthony Gordon] did this week, he deserved to play. I hope he plays well but I am not surprised for him.

"There will be a fight until the last game so our goal is to stay there until that last game of the season.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers: "[James Maddison] had a session yesterday so it was great news to have him back. He has not trained much but he is certainly there to make an impact from the bench.

"Ideally, you are always looking for a result and a performance but for us, whenever we play well, we seem to pick up the results.

"It's about finding that last pass. Getting that first goal is important for us. Tonight, we will look to keep the performance level up and hopefully get the result."

Joshua King’s inclusion for Bournemouth this evening is huge for Eddie Howe, particularly in the absence of the suspended Callum Wilson.

His manager had suggested that the Norwegian might not be fit to face Newcastle, though I’m told King has actually trained all week.

Howe will be looking for marginal gains wherever he can find them. Their last win was five months ago today.

The Cherries are in the relegation zone on goal difference, having taken just one point from the past 18 available.

"I am hurting from this situation, I'm not going to lie. It's painful," said Howe. "I'm using all of those emotions to help direct the team in the way we need to go."

Some fine lockdown hair on display from Dominic Calvert-Lewin as he goes through his warm-up. Alice band and all.

Excluding penalties, Calvert-Lewin has the highest expected goals figure in the Premier League this season (14.1). Since the season restarted, Calvert-Lewin has had 45% of Everton’s shots in the Premier League (9/20), including seven of their 12 in their last match against Norwich.
