One of the attractions of reporting on Newcastle United is arriving into the city on matchday. The trains are packed, the pubs are full and the streets are heaving as 52,000 fans descend on St James' Park, which is physically and metaphorically in the heart of the city.

Today, however, Newcastle is eerily silent bar the gusting wind. And now we are inside the stadium, you can only imagine the fans looking forward to kick-off for their first FA Cup quarter-final since 2006.

You know with Marc Albrighton on this right-hand side, you can get forward but he's not afraid to do his defensive duties. Brendan Rodgers has perhaps noticed how much joy Christian Pulisic is getting and Albrighton will definitely help with that situation.

Ben Chilwell overlaps down the left as Harvey Barnes has tonnes of space on the break.

He sets Chilwell up for a cross but the left-back ends up lifting it on top of the crossbar and straight out for a goal kick.

Frank Lampard's discontent with Chelsea's first-half performance was reflected in that triple change and half-time and there has been an improvement.

Tammy Abraham's loud shout of "no" suggested he felt he was onside when he put the ball in the net but the referee's assistant got it spot on.

Leicester make changes. Dennis Praet and Ayoze Perez are off. Marc Albrighton and Hamza Choudhury are on.

Incredible save by Schmeichel earlier - he wasn't to know that Abraham had wandered offside. Pulisic didn't know too much about it but again, Kovacic is instrumental in everything that is going on in the second half.

It's a brilliant finish from Tammy Abraham but he's just offside again as Christian Pulisic flicks it through to him.

Chelsea just starting to open things up now.

Christian Pulisic is still lively. Matteo Kovacic feeds it through to him and Pulisic flicks it onto Tammy Abraham.

He plays it straight back towards Pulisic, who manages to stick a leg out at it and it bounces off his shin from close range. Kasper Schmeichel pulls of a decent low save to his right but Abraham is offside anyway.

Chelsea have come out a different team and I feel the changes Frank Lampard has made in the midfield - dropping N'Golo Kante into the roll of sitting in front of the back four - has allowed Ross Barkley to break forward.

Those changes have made a difference for Chelsea already. They look a little nippier, a bit sharper.

Still plenty of sloppy passes though as Willian's inside pass to Matteo Kovacic doesn't come off.

Caglar Soyuncu tries to pass it out of the back and Dennis Praet is caught napping. It's a risky pass too!

Matteo Kovacic pounces on it but the shot comes to nothing.

Jamie Vardy does his defensive duties well, heading the corner away.

Dennis Praet gives the ball away in the middle this tme and Cesar Azpilicueta combines with Ross Barkley on the right to win another corner.

Chelsea win a corner which Willian swings in from the left. It's headed away by Caglar Soyuncu and Emerson retains possession for Chelsea.

Ross Barkley makes a good run on the right but Willian overhits the pass.

He flaps his arms in frustration and Frank Lampard just looks on rather grimly.

Chelsea give the ball away twice in the space of a minute! Antonio Rudiger nods it straight at Jamie Vardy, but he can't pick anyone out with the cross.

Then Ayoze Perez wins it on the right. Again, he can't find a teammate.

Frank Lampard is making changes! Three of them.

On comes Cesar Azplicueta, Matteo Kovacic and Ross Barkley.

It's Billy Gilmour, Reece James and Mason Mount who come off.
