    WOW!

Absolutely no sign at all when Mark Sykes was set free down the right wing that he would go for goal.

At first glance it looked like a miss-hit but I'm not completely sure if it wasn't intended.

He doesn't care. His Oxford United team-mates don't care and I'm sure all those of a Yellow persuasion watching at home won't either.

    Game on!

Oxford are level and blimey, in some style, as well!

Mark Sykes puts in what is surely meant to be a cross towards goal but in the process he manages to dink it over Wycombe keeper Ryan Allsop from a pretty tight angle and at some pace.

Did he mean it? Who cares? Oxford certainly won't.

Joe Jacobson has been so good for Wycombe this season and in addition to his earlier corner leading to their opener, he's provided 11 goals for his side this term.

He stands over a free-kick in a dangerous area deep in the Oxford half but his goalbound attempts travels over the crossbar.

Probably won't be a blade of grass left that Anthony Stewart won't have covered come full-time.

He is everywhere for Wycombe tonight. Absolutely stellar performance.

Shrochis: Andy King, I can almost see the stadium from my house (five minute walk from the stadium), and equally anxious here mate. Hopefully a couple of goals still in the locker for us though...

Andy King is following the game with us all the way from Australia if you've just joined us. Another half of nerves await guys, strap in.

    Oxford 0-1 Wycombe

Oxford are turning the screw and Anthony Stewart is called in for another last ditch sliding deflection away for a corner.

Mark Sykes put in a lovely ball after being found in acres of space but Stewart was on hand to deal with his low cross.

Marcus Browne puts in a delivery into a crowded Wycombe box but the Chairboys manage to clear the ball away.

At the minute, Wycombe are standing firm at the back. Oxford, for all their passing and dominance with the ball, just can't find a way through.

Alex Pattison makes an immediate impact after coming on for Wycombe as he accelerates down the left flank and attempts to play Fred Onyadinma through.

But Oxford are wise to his pass and they scramble the ball back. Great impact from the substitute.

Incidentally, while we were treated to The Red Hot Chili Peppers as the players made their way onto the pitch in the first half, Nirvana's In Bloom was playing as they returned after half-time.

Make your feelings known. Thumbs up if you think In Bloom is a better entry song than Don't Stop by RHCP.

The second half is under way at Wembley and Wycombe are potentially 45 minutes away from the biggest promotion in their history.

The Chairboys put Alex Pattison on in place of Matt Bloomfield, with Joe Jacobson now taking the captain's armband, while Oxford change Alex Rodriguez for Liam Kelly.

GH: We gotta step up now. Browney is a little useless, get Agyei or Mackie on. We need a super sub here.

Steve Pringle: I'm having to sit on the floor as I keep falling off the edge of my seat. COYB CHAIRBOYS!!

How are you feeling Oxford fans, do changes need to be made as the second half approaches?

Bit of half-time fun for you now.

Tonight's big game got us thinking about previous play-off finals in English football's third-tier.

So, while the players are getting a team talk and tucking into those orange segments, take a trip down memory lane and have a go at our quiz covering the finals of yesteryear.

    Good luck!

No idea who he is or how he fits into the overall Wycombe coaching set up, but there's a man who's been stood on the edge of the press seats above the halfway line, shouting instructions and encouragement at every kick.

I'll be amazed if he has his voice left come the last 20 minutes of this.

If anyone inside this ground has shouted more in the first half, they must be on the other side of the pitch from here.

Big Bank Grecian: If Wycombe win this match it will just about sum this sorry season up. Both Northampton and Wycombe were extremely fortunate to be in these play-offs. Now both could get promoted. It's a real head scratcher in my opinion.

Tom Fisk: Come on Oxford. Adopted them and have followed them for a while now, as they were a lovely lower division club supported by one of my best mates at uni, ironically now could be heading into the same division as my team (always a pessimistic hammer).

Anddddd that just about does us for the first 45 minutes of this League One play-off final.

Anthony Stewart will surely claim Wycombe's opener as they come in with a one-goal advantage.

Oxford have work to do when we return.

Great chance from Wycombe to double their lead goes begging.

Fred Onyadinma picks up the ball outside the Oxford box and works the ball into some space with enough time to get a shot away.

But he thumps it wide of the mark under pressure from the chasing Oxford defence.

No doubt about it - Anthony Stewart has been the man of this first half.

Got his head on the end of the corner that led to Wycombe's early goal and then at the other end, his side would've been brought back to level-pegging had he not intercepted the ball across goal in his own six-yard box.

Sensational performance from the Wycombe centre-back up to this point.

That is quite the block from Anthony Stewart!

The Wycombe goalscorer is called into action at the other end of the field as he puts in a last-ditch sliding interception to stop James Henry's delivery reaching Matty Taylor.

Had that reached him, Taylor almost certainly would have tapped that in with ease. Sensational defending.
