  1. 'There's something missing'published at 19:43 British Summer Time 20 June 2020

Bournemouth v Crystal Palace (19:45 BST)

    Ian Wright
Former Arsenal striker on BBC One

It is strange. You can feel the build up inside the dressing room but that is not happening. There is something missing in that feeling in the stomach in that when you go out there, there is no-one in the stadium.

Crystal Palace's three successive 1-0 wins just before the pause in the Premier League surely guaranteed them an eighth consecutive season in the top flight, something they have never previously achieved.

Now Roy Hodgson's hope will be to guide them to a highest league finish since 1991 - anything better than 10th place would do that.

Bournemouth's immediate future is much less secure. Just 11 points from their past 18 league games has left them in a precarious position. It would have been hard to fathom that when they beat Manchester United in early November- a result which took the Cherries to seventh place.

Six consecutive defeats over the turn of the year seemed to leave Eddie Howe troubled and introspective. But the break and a struggle with home schooling might have helped clear his mind for the task ahead - one which will now be completed without Ryan Fraser after the Scot refused to sign a short-term contract extension beyond its 30 June expiry date.

However, having been in 91st place and broke when Howe first took the manager's job, Bournemouth have faced more existential crises than this and come through.

  3. Brooks return a pluspublished at 19:41 British Summer Time 20 June 2020

Bournemouth v Crystal Palace (19:45 BST)

    Alan Shearer
Former England captain on BBC One

Bournemouth have got to start very quickly because they desperately need points. It will be a disaster for them if they get relegated.

They are 17 goals down from at this stage last season and they have missed the creativity of David Brooks. He is back now and hopefully that will be a big plus for them.

We do not know what has gone on with Ryan Fraser and his contract but the manager feels he does not want to put him in the side for the last two games he is available for.

  4. Heading southpublished at 19:40 British Summer Time 20 June 2020

Bournemouth v Crystal Palace (19:45 BST)

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth, who are in the bottom three, have collected the fewest points from the last dozen games.

They have conceded at least once in 12 successive league matches and kept just four clean sheets all season.

Only one way they are heading with numbers like that.

  5. 'Zaha does unbelievable things'published at 19:39 British Summer Time 20 June 2020

Bournemouth v Crystal Palace (19:45 BST)

    Ian Wright
Former Arsenal striker on BBC One

I have watched Palace, they play deeper and a lot deeper at home but then they have Wilfried Zaha. Palace can defend like they do and give the ball to him and he does unbelievable things.

He gets fouled a lot and I think sometimes he doesn't get what he is due. He is not having the season he would love to have but he is an integral part of this Palace team.

  6. Ayew watching?published at 19:36 British Summer Time 20 June 2020

Bournemouth v Crystal Palace (19:45 BST)

    Jordan Ayew

Jordan Ayew's eight league goals have been worth 14 points to Crystal Palace this season.

Without his contributions, they would be second bottom.

  7. 'They've come out of it with heads held high'published at 19:34 British Summer Time 20 June 2020

Bournemouth v Crystal Palace (19:45 BST)

    Ian Wright
Former Arsenal striker on BBC One

They [the players] are together, they believe in what they are doing. They have a platform and the way footballers have come out of all of this is magnificent - Marcus Rashford and the rest of the guys. They have come out of this with their heads held high.

It has been powerful images to be protected and the impact it will have. I am delighted the Premier League are supporting it and it feels different.

It feels stronger and there was racism in the grounds when I played and we are still talking about it in 2020.

Stevie Guy: Quite a historic and pivotal moment for the BBC hosting their 1st top flight match since 1988 and their 1st ever Premier League match since its inaugaral setup in 1992. Not ideal circumstances but it's football.

Lynch: At least 1 Match of the Day / live football should always be free to air each month. Glad it’s back and I hope this continues into next season

  11. 'It is about being adaptable'published at 19:27 British Summer Time 20 June 2020

Bournemouth v Crystal Palace (19:45 BST)

    Alex Scott
Former England and Arsenal defender on BBC One

It is routine. I was a player and I knew what I was having for breakfast for match day, I would sit on the same seat on the coach, but the last three months everyone's routine has totally changed. Right now it is about making sure we are adaptable.

It will be hugely different without the fans. For any athlete to get to the top it is about that self motivation and self drive and that is what these players will have to call upon for these games.

  12. One trick pony?published at 19:26 British Summer Time 20 June 2020

Bournemouth v Crystal Palace (19:45 BST)

    Wilfried ZahaImage source, Opta

The statisticians have worked out Wilfried Zaha's take-ons and carries into the box this season.

All he does is gets ball down the left wing, gets by the full back, runs into the box from the side and attempts a pull back.

    Easy to defend right?

  13. 'I'm missing the fans'published at 19:24 British Summer Time 20 June 2020

Bournemouth v Crystal Palace (19:45 BST)

    Ian Wright
Former Arsenal striker on BBC One

At first you are thinking what is it going to be like with no fans? I've seen it, some of the games you have to wait to get up to speed but the Tottenham-Manchester United game was brilliant. For me I'm just missing the fans.

There is so much riding on the games I don't know how I would deal with that with no fans, no excitement, no oohs or ahhs.

  14. Is Zaha at a career crossroads?published at 19:21 British Summer Time 20 June 2020

Bournemouth v Crystal Palace (19:45 BST)

    Ex-Tottenham and Newcastle midfielder

There are few scarier sights for defenders than seeing Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha running at them, one-on-one.

He's tricky, strong and quick - all of which makes it so hard to stop him fairly.

He is 27 and these are his peak years. He should be in a team that really plays to his strengths, preferably in the Champions League which is where he belongs.

That is why the next transfer window will be the right time for him to move on. That is not being disrespectful to Palace, it is just showing respect to Zaha and his ability.

It is great we have got Premier League football, have you ever won the Premier League Gary?

It is not ideal but it is football, the players have to adapt and we have watched the Bundesliga. I am delighted.
