Sam Burton: I remember watching Nick Pope on loan at my hometown club York City several years ago and was hands down one of the better keeps we’ve had in recent memory. Knew he would go on to do good things. Get him as England’s No.1.

    FT: Watford 2-1 Newcastle

Watford’s two-goal hero Troy Deeney, who scored twice from the penalty spot, speaking to BBC Sport: "I should have scored two more but it doesn’t really matter because we wanted the win and that’s what we did in the end. There's been great character shown from the boys twice this week to come from behind and win. We take the wins, performances are getting better - personally, I’d like to have the match-ball, but it is what it is."

On his pre-match comments in the programme criticising his performances since the restart: "When you are captain you have to be self-critical and look at yourself more, and lead by example, and I don’t think I’d been doing that to the highest level. So I am always going to be critical - I give out criticism so I have to be able to take it. Thankfully, today I was better but there is still more room for improvement.

"I had to come off before the end because I had a few problems with my knee - it has been playing up and restricts my movement, but I am not going to complain about it. We get on, and we get ready to play West Ham on Friday."

If you missed it earlier, Norwich were relegated after being thumped 4-0 by West Ham - Michail Antonio scoring ALL FOUR of the goals.

And Newcastle suffered a 2-1 defeat to Watford thanks to two second-half penalties from Troy Deeney.

Here's some thoughts from Deeney, speaking to BBC Sport...

    HT: Liverpool 1-0 Burnley

As it stands, Liverpool are heading towards 95 points.

They would need another six to break Manchester City's record of 100 in one season. Five to equal it.

They have three games left after this - Arsenal away, Chelsea at home and Newcastle at St James' Park on the final day. That's a total of nine points up for grabs.

Burnley have looked more encouraging since they went behind and that was a good chance for Jay Rodriguez.

But that's another stunning save from Nick Pope. Mane found the space and that was in the top corner, Pope's hands and wrists are so strong.

That would have been the game. At one down you've always got a bit of hope.

    Liverpool 1-0 Burnley

Nick Pope is enjoying himself. He's keeping Burnley in it!

It's more brilliant build-up from Liverpool and Sadio Mane's shot is heading in the top right corner but Pope does enough to claw it away.

Kyle: Brilliant header from Robertson. It was Shearer esq. Superb cross from Fabinho too.

Paul Walmsley: Who would have pegged a header from the left back in that position? And the curl on it too! Great goal.

Robin P Young: Always win when Robertson scores. He's only scored in like three games before this, but still

Jay Rodriguez sneaks in behind of Liverpool's backline - Andy Robertson was just a few inches behind his teammates and kept him onside.

It's a tight angle and he's all on his own so Rodriguez isn't able to trouble Alisson, but that's something Burnley will look to try and do more of if they can.

Liverpool break through Sadio Mane, who sets Andy Robertson on his way again on the left. He beats Erik Pieters and his cross flashes across the six-yard box, too far ahead of Roberto Firmino, who didn't commit to his run.

Burnley view that as a weakness - they pile the ball in on top of Alisson but since the first one he's come out well and done well.

    Liverpool 1-0 Burnley

A very cheap corner to concede by Liverpool as Andy Robertson is sloppy in trying to play it out from the back.

Dwight McNeil takes advantage to earn a corner off a deflected shot but Ashley Westwood's delivery is punched away by Alisson.

Chris Wood is getting on top of the keeper every time but Alisson is getting stuck in.

    Liverpool 1-0 Burnley

So far, Virgil van Dijk is winning the battle against Chris Wood very comfortably. He's heading everything away as Burnley try to conjure something up with Dwight McNeil on the left.

Charlie Taylor is then pressed into the corner by Curtis Jones but does well to win a set-piece. Alisson then claws the delivery away under pressure.

    Every man behind the ball.

Liverpool are swarming like flies around the Burnley box. Jay Rodriguez boots another clearance away and there's nobody within 20 metres of it, other than Virgil van Dijk who trots over to restart the Liverpool attack.

It was going to take something special to beat Nick Pope and it's an incredible header! What a ball in, his run is great and the angled header is brilliant. What a goal!

Nick Pope would have been starting to think that it's going to be one of those days for him but what a goal. This Liverpool team are great at interchanging positions and you wouldn't expect the left-back to pop up there.
