  1. CLOSE!published at 10 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Arsenal

The first real chance of the game and it falls to the man all of a Tottenham persuasion would have hoped - Harry Kane.

Lucas pings the ball over the top, well weighted for Kane who gets away from David Luiz with ease. Emiliano Martinez is off his line well and sharp, in a good position, and Kane tries to loft it over him and can't manage it. The keeper beats it down.

You would have to say that Spurs have started as the slightly brighter team. They are looking aggressive going forward. Moussa Sissoko is using his energy and ability to drive forward. But I just feel the game is yet to really get going.

There have been no real quality passages of play. both teams are still feeling each other out.

    Tottenham 0-0 Arsenal

The Gunners have their first real moment of threat - Dani Ceballos spreads the ball with a lovely pass out to Kieran Tierney on the left. His cross to the near post is a good one but Spurs cover and clear.

Yeah I said that Daniel, well done.

Moussa Sissoko gets clear on the right wing for Spurs and drives in a good-looking cross but Emi Martinez is alert to make the catch.

    Looks a good stand-in, doesn't he?

Goals are more of an issue for Spurs at the moment and the style of play going into attacking phases. That's something that Jose Mourinho is going to have to figure out.

Harry Kane now shoots from close to 25 yards but it's charged down. Maybe the message is to get some shots on goal here for Spurs. Jose ordered a joblot of banjos and cows for training this week.

There is one point between the teams but the feel is very different. You feel that Arsenal are turning a corner while Spurs are struggling on trying to put good performances together.

This game has huge bragging rights though.

David Luiz gives the ball away after, what 10 seconds or so? Lucas Moura shoots on the run from 25 yards, plenty of swerve on the ball and Emiliano Martinez has to make the save.

    Better than against Bournemouth already.

Tierney's first season has been all but a write-off but he's showing what he's about now. Playing at wing-back today with Sead Kolasinac behind him on the left of a back three.

    All set?

The talk was that £25m for Kieran Tierney was very good business for Arsenal when they signed him from Celtic.

He has had a lot of injuries but now he looks like he is properly ready to move on as an Arsenal player.

Better news for Spurs fans is the fact that

    • Tottenham boss José Mourinho has never lost a home game against Arsenal in his career, winning five and drawing four of his nine games – only versus Everton and Man Utd (both 10 games) has he faced more often at home without ever losing.
    • Harry Kane has scored 10 goals against Arsenal for Tottenham – if he scores in this game he’ll be the outright top scorer in Tottenham v Arsenal fixtures in history. Five of his Premier League goals against them have been penalties – only Alan Shearer against Everton (7) has scored more from the spot against an opponent in the competition.

It's a shame every game is behind closed doors of course, but even more so here. This place would be rocking right now.

One to watch if Spurs take the lead - Tottenham have dropped 42 points from winning positions in Premier League games against Arsenal, more than any side has dropped against another in the competition’s history.

    Many thanks Emma!

What an absolutely glorious, sun-kissed afternoon in north London.

Just 12 miles or so across town Wembley should have been gearing up to host the final of Euro 2020 this evening, and it's that sort of weather.

Instead we've got a north London derby, devoid of fans if not intrigue. Neither club has had a particularly vintage year so far but the fans won't care about that this afternoon.

    Win at all costs.
