That's where Pepe Reina's experience tells. It was a fantastic save.

Patrick van Aanholt somehow skips through on the left and he only has Pepe Reina to beat in the box.
He's at an angle and doesn't get enough on it. It's straight at Reina in the end. Another important stop though.

Max Meyer is on for Palace. Off goes Luka Milivojevic.

Paul: Can't help but seeing the irony in Palace having a goal disallowed for handball when it hit the shoulder, yet Villa appeal for a penalty for handball, that was more of a handball and don't get it. Inconsistent is an understatement.
Aston Villa 2-0 Crystal Palace
Patrick van Aanholt tries to pick out Christian Benteke in the box but Tyrone Mings does really well to get in front and head it away.
Aston Villa 2-0 Crystal Palace
Palace are trying to knock up a bit of possession. They have been poor in the second half.

Wilfried Zaha has to be careful. He is getting really frustrated and he could end up with a red card. It's not working out for him and he's really losing it at the moment.
The manager Roy Hodgson is stood right next to him and does not say a word. But Andros Townsend comes out of the pack and moves him away.
Aston Villa 2-0 Crystal Palace
Jack Grealish is pushed over by Luka Milivojevic to concede a free-kick in a decent position.
Grealish is fuming afterwards because he thinks Milivojevic has left a leg in.
The Villa midfielder takes the free-kick himself and it's punched away before Trezeguet's cross is comfortably picked up by Vicenta Guaita.

I'm not even sure if VAR checked that. I'd be surprised if they didn't. It looked like it hit his arm.
I don't have a clue what would have been the result if it had. Who knows any more?!

Mbwana Samatta is pushed wide by a through ball so he can't get a shot away. Instead, he tries to cut it back into the middle but it's blocked by Scott Dann.
Samatta is appealing for a penalty for handball but it's not given.

Roy Hodgson had his shades on early doors and you were wondering if he was just looking forward to the summer, now his team are safe.
But they are off now as he comes out into the technical area.
Villa can play at their pace now.
Aston Villa 2-0 Crystal Palace
Conor Hourihane is allowed to turn and shoot from distance and he hits it well. It's going in towards the bottom right corner but the Palace keeper gets a strong two hands on it and pushes it around the post.
Jack Grealish then gets another shot away from the edge of the box but it's straight at Vicente Guaita, who has had a busy few minutes!
Villa are alive.
Aston Villa 2-0 Crystal Palace
Trezeguet, on a hat-trick now, chases a ball down the right and hits it early but he's way out and far too wide to trouble the keeper.

The pressure was on from Aston Villa. He just sort of toe poked it. It was a cool finish.
The only place he could score was by knocking it through the goalkeepers legs and he did not disappoint.
Trezeguet
Ezri Konsa has an effort cleared off the line from the corner but Villa get the ball back a few moments later.
It's nodded on in the middle by Conor Hourihane and it bounces through to Trezeguet, who just pokes it underneath Vicente Guaita.
He's got two for the day and Villa are looking on course to pick up THREE points. Which would be absolutely massive!
Aston Villa 1-0 Crystal Palace
Conor Hourihane likes those disguised free-kicks!
He and Jack Grealish organise the set-piece as if they are going to cross it into the middle.
Hourihane then quickly takes it and tries to catch out the keeper but Vicente Guaita makes a smart save to his right.
Aston Villa 1-0 Crystal Palace
Patrick van Aanholt curls a corner from the right but Scott Dann misses it at the back post and was probably climbing over the defender as well.
It's not got going yet in the second half, since that VAR 'no penalty' decision.
VAR is about as inconsistent as my sister's choice of wine.
Aston Villa 1-0 Crystal Palace
Cheikhou Kouyate catches Douglas Luiz late. He goes into the book.

Adam: VAR correct, no penalty, but Dean Smith will be furious. That is the exact same thing Bruno Fernandes did to them and VAR gave Man Utd the penalty that time.
Rob: It's taken 655 VAR calls but...... They FINALLY GOT ONE RIGHT! Embarrassing dive by Grealish, really needs to kick that out his game.
