    Romania 1-0 Northern Ireland

Denis Alibec hits another shot across the bows of the NI goal but they just about clear. Corry Evans was booked just before that, the visitors can't get a foot on the ball at the moment.

    Romania 1-0 Northern Ireland

Seven goals in 15 caps now for George Puscas, who has impressed so far. A good signing for Reading. It's a very stop-start game so far.

    Quote Message

Northern Ireland went to sleep on the edge of the box. It was a good save by Bailey Peacock-Farrell but Romania reacted quicker. It was the first real chance of the game and they have scored.

  4. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 27 mins

    Romania 1-0 Northern Ireland

The hosts look dangerous now - one ball over the top catches Northern Ireland out and Denis Alibec goes down under a challenge, which is waved away.

    George Puscas (25 mins)

The free-kick concession proves costly! Romania play it short to the edge of the area instead of putting it in, Nicolae Stanciu hits a devilish drive that comes through a clutch of bodies. Bailey Peacock-Farrell makes a sharp save but when Vlad Chiriches puts it across goal it's a tap-in for George Puscas.

He was just about onside I think. VAR may have disagreed...

    Romania 0-0 Northern Ireland

Better from the hosts, Reading forward George Puscas works space on the right and puts over a decent cross which Corry Evans does well to head clear at the front post. The corner is cleared, put back in and Evans is then penalised for handball.

    Romania 0-0 Northern Ireland

Last night's games took a bit to get going and we'll be polite and call this one a slow burner at this stage.

The players and teams are all over the place of course. Tough to prepare for this. Stuart Dallas has gone down with a knee problem but looks like he'll be OK to carry on.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13 mins

    Romania 0-0 Northern Ireland

That free-kick came to nothing and from the next ball played up to Josh Magennis he is booked for an elbow.

    Not much in that!

  11. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Romania 0-0 Northern Ireland

Josh Magennis does well to win a free-kick in a decent spot for Northern Ireland. Chance here to load up the area. The game needs something.

The Ballyclare Enrique, I just saw Paddy McNair move from a place in the back three to the hole on the Uefa graphics. He's very far forwards indeed.

    Decent start from the visitors.

    NOT BAD.

Empty stadiums have done no favours to players singing along with national anthems. Good grief.

    Quote Message

Ian Baraclough has been about Michael O'Neill and the squad, and Michael would have handed tactics down to the U21s when Ian was there and that is a good thing. He knows the players and has the same backroom staff as before. Continuity is the key word tonight and let's hope he gets off to a good start.

    Keep going.
