Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez speaking to BBC One: "It's an incredible story for any young goalkeeper who is not being picked. I'm just delighted. I love this club. I have been here for 10 years and hopefully I can lift the trophy today.

"I knew that I was going to play the FA Cup. For a goalkeeper, playing every three days, you have that risk of injury. I worked so hard [during lockdown]. That's why I have been performing as well because I was ready.

"My dad is calling me every five minutes. I will enjoy every minute. I'm just delighted for this big moment.

"It's massive. It's been an up and down season. We struggled a lot this season like we have never done before. But for us it is massive today."

Chelsea are back in action next Saturday against Bayern Munich in the Champions League and whoever wins the FA Cup will return to Wembley for the Community Shield in just 28 days…while the new Premier League season starts again in exactly six weeks. Happy holidays!

One change for Arsenal as the Gunners hunt a record 14th FA Cup triumph. Spanish defender Hector Bellerin comes in for Joe Willock in the only change from the side that started the 3-2 win over Watford on the final day of the Premier League season.

"When you have a great atmosphere for Wembley in an FA Cup final, with the stadium split in two parts, it is amazing. We miss it. We miss our fans but we have to deal with it. We are just focusing on the game.

"If I score I will help the team to win, or maybe assist. I will try to be efficient and decisive for the team."
