  1. 'Fascinating spectacle'published at 15:35 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

With what's at stake, I think both managers will want to play attacking football but in the back of both managers minds they'll have reservations about their defences.

With the attacking talent we have on show, I expect goals. The fact both teams have dodgy defences - they have had all season and they've been inconsistent - it makes it a fascinating spectacle.

  2. No win, no Europe for the Gunnerspublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

    Arsenal v Chelsea (17:30 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal posted their lowest league finish for a quarter of a century this season. So, unless they win, Mikel Arteta’s side will be devoid of European football, which in turn will harm budgets and their chances of attracting players… plus keeping the ones they’ve got.

When asked if lifting the FA Cup would make it a good season for the Gunners, Arteta’s answer was a simple “no… we can say it’s OK. But it’s not the level for this football club.”

  3. We meet again...published at 15:28 British Summer Time 1 August 2020

    Arsenal v Chelsea (17:30 BST)

In this most unusual, longest, plain weirdest of seasons, it's comforting to end on a familiar tune.

The sides meet this evening for the 21st time in the famous old trophy - only Everton and Liverpool have met more in the competition.

Arsenal need the win to book in some more Thursday night European games. Chelsea need the win for glory's sake.

Who shall take the cup home tonight?
