Freemuchims: Shambolic officiating of an important FA Cup match by Anthony Taylor....just what is going on in English football with crazy decisions which ruins the beauty of the game.

Peanut: Wrighty spot on. Never a second yellow.

Because of this win and because of them being in Europe, Mikel Arteta gets a bigger transfer kitty which is what Arsenal need.

He will need improvements to get into the top four.

It's a long road that Arsenal are on with Mikel Arteta and this is a good start. You just hope that the people upstairs will back him so he can bring the good times back.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard on BBC One: "We started well for 10-15 minutes and we can only blame ourselves form that point. We got complacent, we took time on the ball like it was a stroll and we allowed them into the game. It's hard to get back into the game then. A lot of today is on us.

"All I can do form the sidelines is shout! There are elements in our game that we have worked hard on all year but that is in you as a group. Today we were slow, we played back on ourselves, invited pressure. We didn't play well enough to win a final.

"I'm not even thinking about next week, it all came together for us today, two hamstrings, a dislocated shoulder. It's the end of a long long season and it was the tipping point for us."

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will want the kind of players around him who will create chances, have the same ambitions, want to win trophies and do well for the club.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's future: "He knows what I think about him. I want to build the squad around him. I think he wants to stay and it is just about getting the deal done.

"But I think these moments will help him to realise and believe that we are in the right path and he is a big part of that. He is loved by everybody at the club. Hopefully he can continue with us."

Will he extend? "I think he will, yes."

We have just seen the Emiliano Martinez handball shout - and that's some decision.

The goalkeeper's body is out of the area but his hands, and the ball, were inside.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta speaking to BBC: "It was a difficult start when we conceded so early. If I know something about these players, is that we weren't going to give up.

"We played probably the best 30 minutes after since I arrived. I am so proud to represent these players and this club.

"It is a double reward for us. It is really important for this club in every way to be in Europe. We all did it so I am so happy.

"The players were completely knackered and they made a massive effort through the coronavirus to keep fit so I am so happy for them."

    Arsenal

Arsenal defender Rob Holding speaking to BBC: "I saw him [Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang] walking with the bottom bit attached and I was like 'you need to take that off!' It seems the trend now anyway for people to drop the trophy...

"It took us a while to get used to how they were playing but once we got settled we grew into the first half and then Aubameyang seems to do it on the break every game. He is a our talisman and has done it all season.

"14 FA Cups is crazy. It's my second in four years! I saw on Twitter all the Arsenal fans setting up so as long as they enjoyed it...

"I was in the bottom corner and I could hear Ian Wright shouting from the studio!"

Ah I see how Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang dropped the FA Cup, he obviously wasn't sure that the base is separate from the actual trophy and tried to carry the whole thing - it toppled over. Shambolic stuff but I'm sure he'll be forgiven.
